Scott Contessa Spark 910 TR (TW) Blueberry Yoghurt/Dark Blue
Product information "Contessa Spark 910 TR (TW) Blueberry Yoghurt/Dark Blue"
If you had to describe the perfect mountain bike, what would spring to mind? For Scott, it’s the Contessa Spark 910. Why is that, you ask? Because it’s not only lightweight and particularly well-suited to all types of terrain, but it also looks absolutely brilliant. A trail bike with short travel? A ‘downcountry’ bike? Or even a race bike from time to time? Call it what you like. Scott just knows it’s a bloody brilliant mountain bike.
Featuring a carbon frame and aluminium rear triangle, the Fox Racing Float 34 Performance suspension fork with 130 mm of travel, the Fox Racing Nude 6T shock, the Vario seatpost and an electronic 1x12-speed drivetrain from SRAM. Full control is ensured by the powerful, responsive SRAM DB8 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes.

Technology
Evo-Lap technology
Choosing the right materials accounts for eighty per cent of the work involved in manufacturing a frame. However, the remaining twenty per cent requires the greatest effort. That is why we select the most advanced carbon fibre available on the market and combine this with the intensive use of specific tools, such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software, to plan the carbon lay-up. The FEA software allows various forces to be simulated on a virtual model of the frame, enabling the frame design to be adjusted accordingly. This makes it possible to create complete virtual prototypes that take into account all the physical phenomena of the real-world environment. Evo-Lap technology is used to model the frame in order to optimise the surface, simulate tube structures with different ply orientations, observe the results of various configurations and test the stress distribution in different areas of the frame. Through this extensive computer modelling, the carbon layers in all parts of the frame have been optimised. In the first prototypes, assembling the parts resulted in an extremely lightweight and compact frame, without compromising on stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. The entire model range benefits from Evo-Lap technology.
Adjustable head angle
On the new Spark, the head angle can be adjusted to be ±0.6 degrees flatter or steeper. This can be done without shortening cables or bleeding the brakes. Simply remove the handlebars, rotate the headset cups by 180 degrees and refit them.
Easy access to the shock
Access to the shock via the bottom bracket area is facilitated by a flap. This allows you to adjust rebound, compression and shock pressure, or to install or replace the cable for the TwinLoc suspension system.
Patented integrated suspension system
An integrated shock platform allows for fine-tuning of the suspension characteristics without compromising on weight. For optimum performance, power transfer must be as direct as possible. This minimises lateral movement of the shock during compression. The frame design around the shock and the trunnion mounting becomes significantly stiffer as a result, which increases the efficiency of power transfer. Larger bearings at the seat tube pivot further reinforce this area. A lower shock position lowers the centre of gravity, resulting in better handling, more stable ride behaviour and greater rider confidence. Together, these improvements result in more efficient shock performance. Furthermore, the shock is fully protected from external influences, ensuring that performance is maintained even during wet races.
Rear Axle Tool
The rear axle tool has proven its worth over the years and is now even more versatile. It combines a T25, T30 and a size 6 Allen key in a single tool. This allows you to adjust all pivot mountings and almost all other adjustable components on the bike.
Single-pivot suspension layout
A full-suspension bike cannot be successful without a good suspension design. The Spark’s single-pivot layout offers tried-and-tested kinematics and reduces unsprung mass. A flex pivot at the end of the seat stays is ideal for bikes with this suspension travel. This keeps the system very light whilst ensuring optimum suspension performance.
