For the brand new Addict RC, Scott has completely rethought its approach to carbon road bike manufacturing. Inspired by its approach to mountain bikes, Scott has carefully re-evaluated shaping techniques and looked for innovative ways to improve performance on the road. The result? A remarkable 300g weight reduction in the frame kit compared to the previous model, without compromising on race performance.
Precision engineering
The innovative manufacturing process (PP mandrel) enables high-precision shaping of the inner surfaces and transition areas, coupled with a tube shape optimized for strength, eliminating the need for additional reinforcements and unnecessary filler material. The result is first-class tube profiles and surfaces that significantly reduce the overall weight of the frame without sacrificing strength or rigidity.
Optimized geometry
The geometry of the new Addict RC has been extensively revised to seamlessly adapt it to the modern specifications for this bike. It accommodates wider tires while improving overall handling consistency across all sizes. Whether you're a pro rider or chasing the local KOMs/QOMs at the weekend, the new Addict RC promises increased agility and responsiveness for an unparalleled riding experience.
Comfort
The integration of advanced molding technology and a redesigned seatpost clamping system allows for thinner seat tube walls and reduced material consumption on this important frame part. In combination with the new innovative Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost, the reduced thickness of the seat tube increases flexibility and provides additional comfort on longer rides. In addition, the brand new Addict RC offers a generous tire clearance of 34 mm for more comfort even on the most demanding terrain.
Syncros IC-R100-SL cockpit
The introduction of the brand new Addict RC formed the basis for the development of a new innovative Syncros cockpit. With modern road bike groupsets featuring flared brake levers, Scott's goal was to develop an aerodynamic handlebar. Scott accomplished this by incorporating a subtle flare on the lower bars that seamlessly hugs the brake levers. The result is improved wattsaving, but also improved handling. In addition, Scott has improved the cable routing and revised the clamping system to save even more grams. Scott offers several cockpit configurations with 8 stem lengths from 70 mm to 140 mm in combination with 5 handlebar widths from 360 mm to 420 mm to ensure an optimal fit for every rider.
User-friendly adjustability
Scott has designed the new Addict RC to be effortlessly adjustable, setting a new standard in ease of setup. By optimizing the bolt specifications and integrating a universal tool, Scott has revolutionized the adjustment process.
