Schwalbe Clik Valve – Easier inflation made simple

The Schwalbe Clik Valve introduces a new and effortless way to inflate your bike tires. With a simple click, the pump connects securely to the valve – one-handed and without any force. This makes it ideal for all riders, from young beginners to experienced cyclists. A practical solution for anyone who values ease of use and convenience.

What is the Clik Valve system?

Winner of the 2024 Eurobike Award, the Schwalbe Clik Valve stands out with a straightforward concept: the valve and pump head click together and release just as easily. Minimal effort is required – making it ideal for everyday use.

No matter which type of valve your bike currently has, there are retrofit kits available for common standards such as Presta, Dunlop, or tubeless valves. For Schrader valves, an adapter can be screwed on and removed just as easily – ideal for using air pumps at gas stations.

Special pumps are not necessary: the Clik Valve adapter can be integrated into most standard pump heads, including mini pumps. At the same time, it remains compatible with regular Presta pumps – offering maximum flexibility. In the future, brands like SKS will also offer dedicated Clik-compatible pump models.

Schwalbe will soon begin producing inner tubes with the Clik Valve already installed.

Clik Valve – A modern solution for today’s cycling needs

Schwalbe’s Clik Valve was developed in collaboration with inventor John Quintana, who wanted to create a valve system simple enough for his kids to use independently. The result is a product that puts usability front and center – designed to make inflation easier for everyone.

Whether you're commuting or out on long rides, the Clik Valve simplifies tire inflation and brings noticeable convenience to your cycling routine.

What’s new?

  • A completely new system that changes the way bike tires are inflated.
  • Valve insert and pump head or adapter make inflation noticeably easier.
  • Schwalbe will soon produce tubes equipped with the Clik Valve.

What’s different?

  • The Schwalbe Clik Valve (SCV) makes inflation easier thanks to its intuitive click mechanism.
  • The pump head attaches and detaches effortlessly – without the need for force.
  • The retrofit kit includes the new pump head or adapter, the Clik Valve, and a redesigned dust cap.

What’s better?

  • Can be operated with just two fingers – simple and accessible for everyone.
  • No air loss when disconnecting and no wear on the pump head.
  • Up to 50% higher air flow in tubeless setups compared to standard Presta valves.
  • Reverse compatibility: also works with standard Presta pumps.
  • Retrofit kits available for all common valve types, including Schrader adapters.

Clik Valve FAQ

Yes, the Clik Valve can be used on any bike. Retrofit kits are available for the three most common valve types: Presta, Dunlop, and Schrader. For Presta valves, the insert must be replaceable. Tubeless valves can also be easily converted.
The Clik Valve insert is not compatible with TPU or plastic valve shafts, as an airtight seal cannot be reliably guaranteed. Schwalbe is currently working on a solution for use with Aerothan tubes, expected to launch by spring 2025.
No problem – the Clik Valve also works with most standard Presta or Dunlop pumps, thanks to its reverse compatibility.
The escaping air comes from the pump or hose – not the tire. The tire pressure remains unchanged and matches what’s shown on your pressure gauge.
If you feel and hear a distinct click when attaching, the pump head is properly locked in place – even under high pressure.
You can use the edge of the dust cap, your fingernail, a key, or any small object to release air.
Unlike traditional caps, the Clik Valve cap is pulled off – not unscrewed.

How to retrofit your system

At the valve:
For Presta (SV) and Dunlop (DV) valves, simply unscrew the existing valve insert (a tool for Presta is included) and hand-screw the Schwalbe Clik Valve in place – and it’s ready to use. For Schrader (AV) valves, use the included adapter which threads onto the valve and can be removed when needed.

At the pump:
Insert the adapter into your pump head – depending on the model, it may be clamped or screwed in. Once installed, your pump is Clik-compatible and ready to go.
