The Dottore Termico is a pair of long cycling tights designed for intensive training during the winter season and forms part of Q36.5’s ‘Weather Proof Category’. They combine Q36.5’s proprietary ‘UF-Hybrid Shell PLUS’ technology with a second layer of perforated fleece on the front of the legs, eliminating the need for an additional membrane. Together, the two layers form a system that maintains a stable body temperature, retains natural body heat and, at the same time, protects against the elements.
The inside features a smart thermal fibre, which is made from residues left over from coffee bean processing and has an additional warming effect. The fibre absorbs long-wave infrared rays from the environment and uses them to warm the body. According to Q36.5, measurements show a temperature increase of 1 °C compared with the previous version.
The cut and construction are based on Q36.5’s ergonomic pattern design, which utilises only a minimum number of strategically placed seams. Anti-stress panels avoid central seams in the crotch area, whilst the laser-cut finish further reduces unnecessary seams. The targeted alignment of the panels in the direction of the pedal stroke makes optimal use of the fabric’s vectorial elasticity and supports a high degree of freedom of movement whilst cycling. The Dottore Termico has been tested at over 110 rpm and provides sufficient warmth despite its low weight. It is suitable for cold and dry conditions as well as wet weather. Reflective inserts increase visibility, whilst a Dyneema® insert in the saddle area enhances durability. The chamois is supplied by Elastic Interface® CyTech Italy.
