Due to the elastic properties of carbon, the density of the EPS foam can be reduced by 20% without negatively affecting the energy absorption capacity. The parallel "ribs" of the Trenta are connected by a carbon frame integrated into the EPS shell, making the helmet not only more stable but also significantly lighter than a traditional construction.
