The new MET Manta MIPS® is an excellent example of MET's aesthetic and contemporary design. Inspired by the valuable insights of professionals and the high demands of ambitious amateur athletes, the helmet focuses on four areas: safety, aerodynamics, fit and style. Taking these elements into account, the design of the brand new Manta MIPS® is based on the natural geometry of its predecessor. It is as brilliant as the original, but with an even sharper look and state-of-the-art performance.
The Italian manufacturer MET has done a great job with the design of this aero helmet! I got the black and red version for the test – it looks really classy! Love at first sight. Second look: Fidlock fastener! Very cool. If you're not as stupid as I was the first time when I tried to open it by pushing in the wrong direction, the magnetic closure is easy and quick to use with one hand. If you're not as stupid as I was the first time when I tried to open it by pushing in the wrong direction, the magnetic closure is easy and quick to use with one hand. The Manta also looks good on the head. With a head circumference of 57 cm, I chose size M. The medium version is narrowly graduated. i.e. 56 - 58 cm. This means that the helmet is not too bulky and you don't have that mushroom-head look. I could also fit a cycling cap under it for the cold and wet weather of this year's May. The helmet straps and the fitting system can be perfectly adjusted to the individual head shape. At temperatures of just under 30° C, the ventilation is good despite the aerodynamic shape. Speaking of aerodynamics - when riding fast and facing strong gusts of wind, you actually feel more streamlined; at a speed of 50 km/h, you are supposed to save 4 watts compared to rival helmets. So this is the perfect helmet for the sprint to the finish line or for lovers of great Italian design with a perfect fit - I definitely give it a "like"!

MIPS® At MET, cyclist safety is taken very seriously: every single production batch of helmets is strictly tested in their own lab. To enhance safety further, the new Manta features the MIPS-C2® brain protection system, which allows the helmet shell to slide relative to the head in the event of a crash, redirecting potentially harmful rotational energy.
Aerodynamics The Manta MIPS is more aerodynamic than its predecessor thanks to its lower and tube-shaped profile at the rear, which MET developed with specific wind-tunnel testing in the NEWTON laboratory of Milan.
Fit Beyond its technical prowess, the Manta MIPS is also exceptionally comfortable. The 360° head belt ensures that there will be no pressure points on the skull and its internal shape is inspired by the award-winning MET Trenta 3K Carbon.
Fit System
Safe T-Orbital
All-round belt offers 360° adjustment
4 positions for vertical adjustment
2 positions for occipital adjustment
Ponytail compatible
MET USB LED light compatible
Ventilation MET has engineered the internal shape to channel the air and MET’s signature NACA Vent works in synergy with the specially positioned exhaust ensuring a constant airflow through the helmet, without catching the wind and creating drag.
Fidlock® Magnetic Buckle The Fidlock® magnetic buckle makes it easier and faster to fasten the helmet. The feature effectively reduces triathlon transition times.
Sunglasses Ports The new Manta MIPS features two dedicated ports for securely docking sunglasses.
