Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "MT7 Pro HC Disc Brake Set – TOP DEAL"
The first choice for gravity riders: the Magura MT7 Pro has proven itself in countless competitions – most recently on the bike of DH world champion Loic Bruni. With four pistons, the MT7 Pro delivers the best possible braking performance, whilst the ergonomically optimised 1-finger HC brake lever ensures the ideal braking feel.
Award-winning performance with four pistons: MT7 Pro HC Carbotecture® by Magura
The Carbotecture SL brake lever is made from a composite material consisting of polymers and embedded carbon fibres. This combination makes the brake lever not only lightweight but also extremely durable. The radial caliper design reduces friction and allows for small/large gear ratios. This not only reduces transmission losses – the brake becomes more responsive and easier to modulate.
Award-winning braking performance The MT7 Pro’s one-piece 4-piston caliper is made from forged aluminium. This manufacturing method gives the brake caliper its exceptional rigidity and makes the MT7 Pro one of the most powerful and controllable brakes on the market.
Features – Magura MT7 Pro HC disc brake set
- Carbotecture® SL brake lever housing and aluminium handlebar clamp

What is Carbotecture?
In the sensitive motorcycle and bicycle industries, MAGURA stands for the highest quality, reliability and sophisticated components thanks to in-house production in Germany. By developing special materials and processes such as Carbotecture® and Carbolay®, we have made designs and constructions possible that no other manufacturer can achieve. At our production and assembly sites in Hülben and Hengen, in the immediate vicinity of the original factory in Bad Urach, we have established an extremely effective quality assurance system. Lightweight, extremely sturdy and yet absolutely reliable in function for years to come – for our MAGURA brakes, we achieve these qualities using several plastics developed in-house. To call them ‘plastics’ would be a real insult.
We see ourselves as architects of our materials: this is how our base material Carbotecture® came into being, a portmanteau of ‘carbon’ and ‘architecture’. A mixture of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibres is transformed into a plastic granulate through several complex processes. During the processing of this granulate into the finished component, the carbon fibres are optimally aligned to meet the load requirements. Using this Carboflow process, any desired shape can be created from the granulate via injection moulding. Compared to the traditional lightweight material aluminium, our Carbotecture® offers significant advantages: whilst offering the same tensile and fracture strength as aluminium, Carbotecture® is 50% lighter – meaning it weighs just half as much! Carbotecture® is a dream material, but only thanks to our highly advanced machinery and processes: smooth surfaces in all complex shapes are possible. This is how we create our stiff yet lightweight brake levers. BMW also relies on the special properties of Carbotecture for its motorcycles; for instance, the clutch master cylinder on the BMW GS is made from this material.
With our Carbotecture SL® material, we increase this strength whilst simultaneously reducing weight by incorporating medium-length rather than short carbon fibres into the polyamides. The brake levers of our MT disc brake series, which has won numerous test awards, are made from Carbotecture® and Carbotecture SL®.
Another material is Carbolay®, which is manufactured in a fully automated process. In this process, the carbon fibres are positioned to withstand the load using a textile process and are fully automatically impregnated with resin in a mould. This allows brake levers to be produced in Carbolay® with an attractive and ergonomically optimised shape: perfect finger force transmission thanks to high stiffness combined with the low weight of the components.
