Firstly, it helps you to be seen more clearly by motorists on the road. You’re less likely to be overlooked by parked cars or other objects on the road. Secondly, the lighting on your helmet allows motorists to see much more clearly where you’re looking, enabling them to approach you more safely.
Chips On Board (COB) is an LED manufacturing method that offers a number of advantages over more conventional technologies. It allows for a more compact design whilst delivering greater light intensity, meaning you’ll be seen from further away. It also produces a more even beam of light. Lumos likes to describe it as its best LED technology to date.
The Lumos Ultra MIPS+ features an additional safety feature built into the helmet to provide extra protection against rotational forces during an impact. It is also Lumos’s best-ventilated helmet to date. They have listened to feedback from their customers and paid very close attention to how the Ultra channels air through its internal ventilation system. Three large vents have been created at the back of the helmet to ensure that hot air is expelled, keeping the rider cool whether they’re commuting or riding for sport.
