Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "TC-2 Tool Case Incl. Torque Wrench"
Scope of delivery
- 1 x Katana TC-2 tool case
- 1 x Radon Basic torque wrench
Radon Basic: reliable tools for bike mechanics
In order to wrench effectively on your own bike, you need special tools for many tasks. The Radon Basic range offers bicycle tools for hobby mechanics. These tools do their job reliably, but are honestly not suitable for everyday use. This is where the Radon Pro range of tools comes in.
Torque wrenches are precision tools that enable bolted connections to be tightened with the exact force recommended or specified by the manufacturer. The correct torque, which is specified in Newton meters (Nm), is particularly important for carbon frames and add-on parts. However, the correct tightening torque also ensures that the screw connection is not overloaded for all other materials.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Torque wrenches are not suitable for loosening screw connections, neither in left-hand nor right-hand rotation (screws with left-hand threads are rare, but they do exist → e.g. the left pedal!) Loosening screw connections destroys the sensitive mechanics of the torque wrench. The measuring accuracy is then no longer guaranteed. Improper storage can also affect the accuracy. A torque wrench must always be stored in a relaxed state, i.e. at the lowest adjustable value!
And another important tip at this point: Before using it for the first time, the entire working range of the torque wrench should be turned up two to three times and returned to the zero position. This allows the special grease to spread effectively and reach all relevant points in the mechanism.
