The KATANA extension headset cups are the ideal optional upgrade for the KATANA BCP-1 press-fit tool. They have been specially developed to press modern semi-integrated bottom brackets (Zero Stack – ZS) into the bicycle frame so that they are perfectly flat, straight and undamaged. As high-quality, weight-optimised lightweight headset assemblies are particularly sensitive to tilting, these precision-machined adapter rings provide the perfect contact surface for safe and gentle installation.
Versatile use & protection for lightweight components – The adapter rings are simply slipped onto the spindle of your existing BCP-1 press-fit tool. They provide an optimal fit around the bearing shell, distribute the pressing force evenly and reliably prevent the delicate aluminium edges from slipping or becoming damaged. A clever bonus for the workshop: the shells can also be used on the reverse side as a counter-holder for pre-set bearing sets (Bearing Preset) to secure the opposite bearing during the pressing process.
