Hypr Compound
HYPR is a full-silica compound and our best-performing compound to date. Compared to our previous road racing compound, HYPR has 16% less rolling resistance with 23% better grip in wet conditions. Impressively, HYPR decreases rolling resistance and increases traction, all while keeping durability equal to our previous rubber compounds.
ZK
ZK is the next generation puncture protection material that is lighter, more flexible, and stronger than previous materials such as K2. Maxxis typically uses ZK as a breaker layer, situated underneath the tread in the middle of the tire.
One70
The number of threads that cross through one square inch of a single ply of the tire’s casing. Lower TPI gives better puncture, cut and abrasion resistance but is heavier. Higher TPI conforms better to the terrain, offering a smoother, more comfortable ride while reducing the weight of the tire.
Tubeless ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure and therefore have better traction, the rolling resistance is lower than with hose, and where there is no hose, the risk of breakdowns is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless ready tyres, because the bead of our TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. This means that tubeless mounting is successful with the first inflation and with little liquid on all rims that comply with the standard dimensions.Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be fitted with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabrics are very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and guaranteed by MAXXIS, the tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.

I mounted these Maxxis tyres yesterday without the use of tyre levers on my Fulcrum DB4 wheels. I installed the tyres with an inner tube in order to help make the tyre seat in the rim. After removal of the tube I was able to inflate the tyre just using a normal floor pump. I used Peaty's Holeshot BioFibre Tubeless Tyre Sealant 40 ml in each tyre. If you do the trick with the inner tube be sure not to exceed max pressure as printed on the side wall. And the ride? The first ride on these tyres was also my first ride using tubeless. The tyres run smooth and for sure the rolling resistance is low compared to my normal set up. I only give 4 stars because I need to ride them to see how they perform in the long run.
