Road all-rounder: the Pirelli Cinturato™ EVO TLR
The CINTURATO EVO TLR from Pirelli combines technical advancements with sustainability and versatility. Building on the predecessor model CINTURATO Velo, it offers improved grip, more comfort and a longer service life, regardless of the weather and surface.
The wide range of sizes makes the tire suitable for road bikes, gravel bikes, commuting and touring. The SmartEVO AS compound increases grip, reduces vibrations and ensures a safe riding experience, even on wet or cold roads.
The tread pattern is based on the SCORPION Trail III motorcycle tire and combines a smooth center tread for high mileage with profiled shoulders that provide better grip on gravel and slippery surfaces. The construction improves abrasion resistance and increases mileage by around 40% compared to the previous model.
One focus is on the use of sustainable materials: more than half of the components are bio-based or recycled, which is confirmed by independent test centers. The natural rubber is also FSC™-certified, which ensures responsible sourcing. Pirelli's own logo for sustainable products indicates its commitment to environmental protection and the circular economy. Für die dunkle Jahreszeit bin ich von P-Zero Race TLR 30mm auf Cinturato EVO TLR in 30mm Retro gewechselt. Gemessene Breite ca. 29,1mm bei 20mm Maulweite und 5bar. Rein vom Fahrgefühl gefallen mir die Cinturato besser. Der Grip ist spürbar höher, vor allem bei Nässe fühlen die sich sehr sicher an. Die Cinturato sind auch etwas komfortabler. Feine Unebenheiten werden besser herausgefiltert, und sie sind dadurch auch leiser. Störend ist, dass man durch die hohe Griffigkeit des Materials ständig kleine Steinchen mitnimmt und hochwirbelt. Bei den P-Zeros passiert das nicht. Die Montage ist ähnlich schwer wie bei P-Zeros mit TLR. Man braucht zwingend gute Reifenheber, am besten solche die man in den "Hook" der Felge einklicken kann (z.B. die hellgrauen von Schwalbe).
