- ACCURATE TO THE MINUTE - A precise Battery Management Controller integrated into the battery enables a precise, up-to-the minute display of remaining light for all brightness levels in the SUPERNOVA app, independent of temperature. The status is displayed on the battery itself with an RGB LED.

- BATTERY HEATING - The optimum charging temperature of a rechargeable battery is around 20°C. Significantly higher and lower temperatures damage the cell chemistry immensely during the charging process. That’s why our high-tech battery, like that of a modern electric car, has an integrated battery heater which ensures an optimal charging temperature when it’s too cold. At high temperatures above 40°C (104F) degrees, the charging automatically stops until the temperature drops. The polished aluminum casing reflects the sunlight and prevents overheating better than a black plastic casing.
- WARRANTY - Have you ever heard of a 5-year warranty on batteries? That is what Supernova provide! To be eligible, you will need to activate the fully automatic Longlife mode for more than 50% of the battery’s service life. Also, you’ll need to ensure that the battery doesn’t remain in a hot car for a long time when it’s fully charged. The app can be used to activate or deactivate various convenient functions, such as the Longlife mode. The Supernova app notifies you of your battery’s current health status. It also displays your expanding warranty period, which can be extended to up to five years if you treat your battery with care. You definitely need to avoid storing the battery in a hot car in the middle of summer! If you don’t want to use your mobile phone while riding, you can, of course, program and control your lights without an app.

The high beam is perfect for speedy descents or winding roads. Thanks to its extremely wide beam angle, the high beam of the M99 MINI PROB54 reaches much farther. In addition, the high beam illuminates bends extremely well, road signs are more visible, and the light cone is not affected by the diving of the suspension fork. Other front light manufacturers often claim to have higher lumen values. However, much of their light is dispersed and not focused on the trail where you need it. Such lights do not come close to the uniform, far-reaching, focused light carpet of the M99 B54 PRO, which immensely increases visibility and safety. Additionally, you can ride in city traffic without dazzling others by switching to the powerful low beam, in line with road traffic regulations.
THE DIVING OF THE SUSPENSION FORK
The diving of the suspension fork is a well-known problem with mountain bikes. Because MTBs have a long travel suspension, and the fork dives to a great extent when you brake, the reach of the light cone is often diminished by up to 90%. Supernova’s special high beam is optimized to increase the beam above the light-dark boundary so that it compensates for the movement of the fork. Ich habe mein Alltags-Pendler-Gravelbike mit der Supernova B54 Pro ausgestattet. Positiv gefällt mir, dass Supernova bei Nutzung des Longlife-Lademodus eine 5-jährige Garantie auf den Akku gibt. Ebenso wichtig finde ich gegenüber den anderen ebenfalls StVzO zugelassenen Akku-Scheinwerfern in diesem Preis-Leistungssegment zu erwähnen, dass die Supernova mit "angeblich" leerem Akku noch 2 Stunden Notreserve im Eco Mode bereit hält. Somit gibt es immer noch eine Möglichkeit sicher nach Hause (oder zumindest zurück in die Zivilisation) zu kommen, sollte man man unerwartet länger in der Dunkelheit unterwegs sein. Die Garmin Integration (Restlaufzeit, Akkukapazität in % und gewählte Leistungsstufe) ist gut gelöst und lässt sich als Datenfeld von kompatiblen Geräten über den Connect Store gratis einbinden. Der Taster zum Wechsel zwischen den per App oder Tastenkombination programmierbaren Helligkeitsstufen für Abblend- und Fernlicht ist kabelgebunden und kommt ohne Batterie aus; mir gefällt es, da ich nicht den Ladezustand eines weiteres "Gagets" noch beachten muss. Zusätzlich kann man durch längeres Drücken sogar den Eco Modus mit sagenhaften 50h Leuchtdauer aktivieren. Dieser Modus eignet sich hervorragend als Tagfahrlicht. Die Helligkeit des Fernlichtmodus ist sensationell ! Einzelne nicht homogen ausgeleuchtete Bereiche in der Front kann ich aufgrund der breiten Ausleuchtung aber gut verschmerzen. Der LowBeam Standard Modus ist ausreichend hell und blendfrei für den Gegenverkehr in der Stadt. Rundrum eine sehr gute Investition für Ganz-Jahres-Pendler, die eine gute Ausleuchtung abseits der Radwege in der Stadt benötigen.
