Continental Aero111 Folding Tyre
Product information "Aero111 Folding Tyre"
The patented, aerodynamically optimized tread design is equipped with 48 precision-moulded air chambers. These so-called "vortex generators" create controlled turbulence, which means that the airflow sticks to the rim for longer, reducing drag and optimizing handling in crosswinds.
Features - Continental Aero111 TR folding tyre
- Aero, grippy and fast: the go-to tyre for road cyclists who know that every watt counts
- The sail effect optimizes handling in crosswinds
- "Vortex generators" reduce the air resistance of the entire wheel-tyre system
- Vectran™ Breaker for unparalleled puncture protection

For initial fitting, we recommend using at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant per tire. Then rotate the tire or wheel to distribute the Conti RevoSealant and inflate to maximum pressure. Check the pressure again before the first ride and pump up if necessary.
Compatibility and safety instructions for tubeless-ready tires (XX-C = hooked rims; XX-TSS = hookless rims, with straight inner wall [hookless]):
25-622 [developed: 19C]: hookless max. 5.0 BAR / 73 PSI (≤21TSS), hooked max. 7.5 BAR / 109 PSI (≤21C);
28-622 [dev. 19C] hookless max. 5.0 BAR / 73 PSI (≤25TSS), hooked max. 6.5 BAR / 94 PSI (≤25C);
30/32-622/584 [developed: 21C] max. 5.0 BAR / 73 PSI (≤25TSS/C); [ETRTO-2021 for 25-622 on 23TSS not approved].
Scope of delivery
- 1 x Continental Aero111 TR folding tire
Technologies
TR (Tubeless Ready)The carcass construction is particularly resistant and insensitive to damage and the penetration of foreign bodies. The result: your tires are versatile, lightweight and have an attractive design. In addition, the tires with this technology can also be used tubeless or in combination with an inner tube.
Vectran Breaker - the reference in puncture protection
Vectran™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran™ have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran™ breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran™ Breaker does not affect rolling resistance.
Vortex generators
The aero-optimized tread design is obviously different: 48 small air chambers are regularly distributed over the surface of the tire. These so-called "vortex generators" direct the turbulence on the surface of the front wheel. The result: a "perfected storm" that enables the drag of the entire wheel-tyre system to be reduced
Sailing effect - with Aero111
The sailing effect (forward force) increases at all speeds. Even at lower rim profiles, riders benefit from this effect because the laminar airflow stays longer on the rim and the drag of the wheel-tyre system is reduced.
BlackChili Compound - It's all in the compound
The running properties of a tire's rubber compound are largely determined by three interacting factors - static friction [grip], rolling resistance and mileage. The dilemma: If one of these factors is improved, at least one other factor deteriorates in return. A tire with maximum grip wears more quickly and rolls more slowly. If you make the tire faster or more durable, its grip is reduced. With our Black Chili Compound, a tread compound that is always based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, we have provided the cycling scene with a lasting answer. Depending on the area of use of a tire, we adjust the compound recipe specifically - whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, for time trials or downhill. For Black Chili, we refine special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread compounds. We then add carbon black particles to these compounds, which in turn are optimized in terms of shape and surface properties.
