Zipp takes a different approach. On gravel, wind resistance and friction slow the rider down just as much as the vibrations caused by the uneven surfaces. To counteract this, Zipp has applied its Total System Efficiency design philosophy specifically to the challenges of gravel. The wide rim profile increases the tyre volume and thus enables lower tyre pressures without sacrificing stability. This means you dampen vibrations from the ground while maintaining the necessary grip for corners and traction for steep climbs. The rim profile also creates a seamless transition to the gravel tyres and therefore efficient aerodynamics on gravel. And despite its width, the 303 XPLR SW wheelset remains lightweight, so you can enjoy those fulfilling days in the saddle as quickly and refreshed as possible.
