On weekends, I often set off early to make the most of the day while still spending time with my kids. Especially during the darker months, visibility and safety are crucial – and for me, the Varia rear light is one of the best safety innovations in recent years. In winter, when wearing at least a cap under the helmet, it's easy to miss the sound of approaching (e-)cars. The Varia alerts me early via my Edge device, preventing me from being startled. Even in group rides, the system works flawlessly! The battery lasts around 8 hours, which is significantly longer than most rear lights. The light can also be removed from the mount with a simple twist. In my experience, flashing rear lights make drivers even more considerate, but unfortunately, they are not allowed in Germany. For me, the Garmin Varia is a must-have that significantly improves road safety.
