Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Frame-size in cm: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.61. Frame size in inch: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.24.If the theoretical value lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- Rather the smaller frame size when riding sportsmanlikely
- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Product information "Aerohead Mips - Time Trial Helmet"
The Wind Tunnel™ ventilation and internal channels ensure cooling when temperatures rise. It is also equipped with the unique ZEISS® Optics all-round visor for unrestricted and unobstructed vision. A magnetic fixation keeps the visor in place, but it can be easily removed and attached to the helmet in the "flipped-up" position. The helmet is also equipped with the MIPS® system for redirecting impact energy.
Features - Aerohead MIPS
- MIPS® safety system: protects the head from rotational forces in the event of a fall
- ZEISS® lens with magnetic attachment
- X-Static® anti-bacterial padding
- Fitting system: Roc Loc® Air
- Construction: In-Mold polycarbonate with EPS liner
- Ventilation openings: 4, wind tunnel ventilation, over-brow ventilation
- Weight: approx. 450 g (without lens)
Technologies
MIPS
MIPS is a sliding plane system inside the helmet, which was developed to slow down or prevent the amount of energy that is transferred towards or away from the head.
X-Static padding
The X-Static® pads are woven with silver threads. Quick-drying and antibacterial, they prevent odor build-up. In addition, the thermal properties of the X-Static® pads give the rider a cooling sensation in the heat and a warming sensation in the cold.
Roc Loc Air
The revolutionary Roc Loc® Air Fit System has the same outstanding properties as the Roc Loc® 5, plus it impressively increases airflow and ventilation inside the helmet. The unique design creates a small air cushion between the helmet shell and the head, allowing the wind to flow undisturbed and cool without sacrificing fit and comfort. A new level of fit, comfort and ventilation that can only come from Giro.
In-Mold
With the In-Mold construction, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single step during the foaming process. This makes the helmet even more resistant without adding weight. This production process also makes it possible to create significantly better ventilation systems and ventilation openings. Compared to traditional helmets, in-mold helmets are therefore lighter and have significantly better ventilation systems.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Wind Tunnel™ Ventilation is Giro's proprietary system of internal channels and active vents that channel cool, fresh air over and around your head, forcing out exhausting heat and stale air. A difference you can see and feel - on every ride.
