First time dissapointed with the purchase. Bare in mind this model RTL516 has no flashing modes only solid.This info should be highlighted in my opinion and placed somewhere you see it right away. Also there is a video in a product description of RTL515 what has flashing modes. As a first time Varia buyer I didn’t know this until I actually tested it in a street. Hope this helps for international buyers. No flashing mode: The lamp meets the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) and has no flashing mode.
Funktioniert perfekt mit meinem Sigma ROX 12.1 EVO. Innerhalb wenigen Sekunden verbindet sich das Garmin Varia beim einrichten und genauso ist es dann auch bei der Benutzung. Es ist egal was zu erst eingeschaltet wird, sie verbinden sich schnell und funktioniert. Im Internet habe ich noch einen Halter für die direkte Montage an den Sattel gekauft, was die Nutzung (Vario Sattelstütze) perfekt macht. Ich habe es weniger wegen den Autos in der Stadt gekauft, sondern wegen den Rennrad - und E Bike Fahrer (leider gibt es für diese Räder keine Klingel im Zubehör). Ab und an erschrecke ich, wenn ohne klingeln recht schnell überholt wird. Das Radar erkennt alles zuverlässig.
Für mich nach wenigen Tagen Gebrauch ein wichtiges Sicherheits-Feature. Die Anzeige in Kombi mit dem Edge 1030 plus klappt super, und man fährt deutlich entspannter.
Die Anschaffung ist zwar teuer aber letztendlich lohnt die Investition. Ich bin Berufspendler und fahre auch im Dunkeln von bzw in die Arbeit. Die Vorteile im Vergleich zu einem Rückspiegel liegen auf der Hand. Ich sehe am Display meines Edge 130 Plus auch im Nebel oder bei Dunkelheit wie viele Fahrzeuge und wie schnell sie sich nähern. Erst einmal gewöhnt möchte man dieses Gadget nicht mehr missen. Einen Sterneabzug gibt's dafür, dass es sich nicht um eine internationale Version (Blinklicht) handelt sondern offensichtlich um eine deutsche Variante (permanentes Licht). Dadurch wird tagsüber unnötig Energie verbraucht.
Ich war lange skeptisch ob es sich wirklich lohnen würde so viel mehr Geld in eine Rückleuchte zu investieren. Nachdem ich nun Jahre skeptisch war, habe ich sie mir nun doch zu Weihnachten gekauft. Ich bin überrascht wie gut sie mir gefällt. Die Auto Erkennung liegt bei mir bei ca 80-90% womit ich gut leben kann. Es macht meine Ausfahrten auf der Straße um einiges entspannter. Klar ohne geht auch, aber wer die Kohle locker hat, wird es nicht bereuen.
Es kann zwar keine Unfälle durch andere Verkehrsteilnehmer verhindern, aber es ist ein gutes Gefühl auf dem Navi angezeigt zu bekommen, ob, wie schnell und wie viele Fahrzeuge kommen. Das Licht ist sehr hell und man wird laut Arbeitskollegen schon vom weitem sehr gut vom Auto aus gesehen. Motorräder oder Quads erkennt das Gerät ebenfalls.
