The FOX 36 Performance Elite is the ideal choice for ambitious trail and all-mountain riders looking for maximum performance at an attractive price. Equipped with the new GRIP X shock, it impresses with its sensitive response, fast damping reaction and exceptionally quiet operation. Compared to the GRIP X2, the shock saves around 120 grams in weight and also features a Firm mode, which noticeably increases efficiency on climbs and sprints without compromising its strong downhill performance.

The torsionally stiff construction with extensive bushing overlap, black hard-anodised stanchions made from 7000-series aluminium, the GlideCore air spring and low-friction seals ensures a sensitive response throughout the entire travel. The result is greater control, more precise steering and excellent tracking – particularly on technical trails and in challenging terrain.

With its successful combination of stiffness, low weight and responsive suspension performance, the FOX 36 Performance Elite is a high-performance suspension fork for modern trail and all-mountain bikes.

The Performance Elite forks feature the same adjustment options, functions, dampers, weight and 7000-series aluminium top tubes as the Factory series, but have black anodised stanchions instead of the genuine Kashima coating.

Technologies

GRIPX
Before heading uphill, simply turn the high-speed compression adjustment lever clockwise until you hear a distinct click. The Grip X now locks both the high-speed and low-speed compression, providing a stable platform for efficient power transfer to the pedals. Before setting off, turn the high-speed adjuster back to your preferred setting and ride with the added traction and predictability, without compromising performance.

FLOAT Air Spring – Patented air compensation technology
The FLOAT air spring system for the 32, 34 and 40 models is lighter and reduces the activation force required for compression, ensuring excellent ride comfort and better responsiveness over minor bumps for all riders and at all pressure settings. Similar to our FLOAT shock absorbers, the new FLOAT system features positive and negative air springs that automatically balance each other during use to provide the rider with exactly the desired suspension behaviour. The progressiveness of the spring rate curve can be adjusted using air volume spacers, allowing the rider to fine-tune the air spring’s behaviour.

EVOL
A more linear spring curve gives EVOL forks and dampers smoother suspension behaviour at the top end of the travel, extra support in the mid-travel range and more finely tunable end-stroke progression. EVOL technology features an increased negative air spring volume. It is specifically positioned and dimensioned to provide optimum sensitivity to small impacts.

Variable Valve Control (VVC)
FIT GRIP2 now offers fast rebound thanks to the innovative, patent-pending approach: Variable Valve Control (VVC). It is a revolutionary way to adjust high-speed rebound by effectively altering valve stiffness, rather than increasing preload. Unlike standard adjusters, which increase valve preload, VVC uses a leaf spring to alter valve flex during high-speed rebound. The adjuster provides the same effect as turning up the high-speed rebound, but without the need to dismantle the shock absorber.

Air Volume Spacers
The FLOAT air spring on Fox forks and shock absorbers can be finely adjusted using volume spacers to make the spring elements more or less progressive. This allows the rider to fine-tune the suspension precisely to their requirements.
