Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "SR Tri Men Front Triathlon Saddle"
There are riders who place the load in the aero position more on the front part of the saddle and therefore need a special shape to avoid painful muscle fatigue and maximize performance.
Features - Ergon SR Tri Men Front Saddle
Find your power position
Many years of research as part of the Tri project have shown that not all triathletes are the same. Some riders put more pressure on the middle section of the saddle, others sit on the front section. This is why the Ergon development team developed the Power Position concept and designed a separate saddle for each riding position.
Relief for the front sitting position
The V-shape of the SR Tri Men Front is specifically designed for triathletes who tilt their pelvis forward more in the aero position and therefore put more strain on the front area of the saddle, which requires special ergonomics for optimum relief.
Power to the front!
The front position achieves a lower aero posture - the back is flatter and the front area of the saddle is mainly loaded. This leads to correspondingly higher pressure in the genital area, which is relieved by the distinctive V-shape with the short and wide front area.
Developed with top triathletes
During the three-year development period of the Tri project, the Ergon experts analyzed various seating positions with top triathletes. For example, Jan Frodeno and Laura Philipp ride in the Power Position Mid and Imogen Simmonds and Jan Stratmann ride in the Power Position Front.
Optimal adjustment with the BMR line
The Biomechanical Reference Line (BMR Line) is marked on the saddle surface of all SR Tri saddles. This shows the meridian of the saddle - the point at which the saddle is exactly 75 millimetres wide. The BMR line is a reference point for the correct fitting of height, seat position and inclination and the correct saddle-nose distance. The BMR line is also an important reference point for precise adjustment in our Fittingbox Road.
Perfectly matched upholstery
The padding of the SR Tri Men is made of durable Orthopedic Comfort Foam and is precisely tailored to the needs of long-term triathlon use. It is firm enough to prevent energy loss due to excessively soft padding, while at the same time providing sufficient padding to effectively reduce pain and strain.
More freedom, more speed
The ergonomically optimized V-shape design of the SR Tri Men Front has been specially developed for the demands of triathlon. With its short and wide front area, the saddle offers you maximum legroom without putting strain on the sensitive perineal area. The short saddle nose offers space for micro-movements for the best pressure distribution on long distances and enables optimum pedal ergonomics. This effectively prevents back muscle fatigue and also relieves the muscle chains you need for running. This means: more power on the bike and a better start to the run!
Targeted relief against numbness and pain
During long rides in the aero position, the pressure on the sensitive perineal area is permanently very high and thus reduces the oxygen supply to the genital area. This can lead to numbness and, in the worst case, erectile dysfunction. The SR Tri Men is equipped with a particularly wide and deep relief channel that guarantees effective pressure relief and thus reliably prevents discomfort.
