Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Product information "Performance Comfort GC1 BioKork"
Features - Ergon GC1 BioCork
Organically grown - 40 percent cork
Ergonomics, function, feel and sustainability: the bio-cork version of the GC1 combines all of these. The handle consists of 40 percent cork. The material comes from organic farming in Portugal and meets strict ecological guidelines.
ecologically sustainable - Ergon initiative "GreenLab
Sustainability is high on the agenda at Ergon. Under the "GreenLab" initiative, packaging is developed from recycled material, and entire products such as the GC1 organic cork grip are made from particularly environmentally friendly materials. All parts of the handle are consistently manufactured in an ecologically sustainable manner.
Number safe - Always clamps and that's a good thing
The GC1's clamping system is extremely secure and easy to assemble. Each handle is fixed with only one screw and is thus reliably protected against twisting. Also important for additional safety: Ergon aluminum clamps are cold forged and not pressed.
Hand-feelers - It's the mixture that makes the difference
Minimal friction - maximum comfort: the super-soft, UV-stable Longlife rubber compound developed by Ergon offers reliable grip when cycling with its texture fields, lies comfortably in the hand and noticeably increases the driving pleasure.
Ergonomically ideal
With handlebars with a pronounced backward bend, conventional grips cause the wrist to buckle. The result is discomfort and pain of various kinds. The GC1 is anatomically and ergonomically ideally shaped for this type of handlebar, corrects malpositions of the hands and guarantees unadulterated riding pleasure
Easy on the nerves
When cycling, the hands support a large part of the upper body weight on the handlebars. This creates high pressure on the small grip surface. This often pinches off the very sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs in the area of the ball of the little finger just below the surface of the skin. This can lead to feelings of numbness. The wing grip increases the contact area of the hand, distributes the pressure over a larger area and prevents discomfort.
No kink - no tingling
The bending of the wrist compresses nerves, tendons and blood vessels. The result: the carpal tunnel narrows and can damage the median nerve. Prolonged cycling with increasing fatigue makes it difficult to maintain a healthy posture. The wing design of our GC1 grips supports the hand, automatically places the wrist in an ergonomically ideal position, and prevents numbness, tingling and pain.
