Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "GS2-L Evo grips"
Optimum grip position and high-grip surface: Ergon GS2-L Evo
The GS series now has another grip option with the new compact Barend. The 2-finger barend made of GRP composite enables a comfortable second hand position, especially on longer MTB tours. The rubberized surfaces ensure a secure grip. Thanks to the newly designed inner core, installation is simple and secure, and the grips are also fully compatible with carbon handlebars.Features - Ergon GS2-L Evo
The large wing takes the pressure offErgon sets new standards with the GS2-L Evo. Sporty bikers can finally look forward to an ergonomic grip with a pronounced wing. The pressure is distributed evenly and the wrist is optimally relieved, there are no constrictions and the sensitive ulnar nerve is protected. Numb fingers and aching hands are now a thing of the past.
The pain preventer
If the wrist is bent too much when cycling, the carpal tunnel can become trapped. The result: burning pain in the hand or forearm - known as carpal tunnel syndrome. This is exactly what the GS2 prevents: the wing, which is perfectly adapted to the hand with an anatomical metacarpal curvature, ensures an almost complete form fit between the hand and the grip. high pressure is evenly distributed across this large surface, relieving the carpal tunnel and preventing pain.
New ergonomic formula for full control
Thumb, fingers, middle hand: these three gripping zones allow you to hold your bike in your hand while riding. The GS2 has special texture fields for each of these zones, which are optimally adapted to the ergonomics of the hand - for full control and a high level of safety.
A grip as dynamic as you are
The GS2-L Evo is ergonomically optimized for sporty touring and fitness rides and has a newly defined rubber hardness. It has slightly less volume than Ergon's global bestseller GP1 - and is therefore also ideally suited for dynamic grip positions such as when pedaling in an uphill position.
Thick or thin - suitable for every hand
Ergon offers two different sizes so that the GS2-L Evo fits perfectly in the hand. The difference between "Small" and "Large" lies in the grip width. A larger hand has more grip on a thicker handle than on a thinner one. Accordingly, a thinner grip fits better in a small hand. The "Small" size is recommended for hand (shoe) sizes 6.5 - 8.5 and the "Large" size for 8.5 - 10.5.
Compatible with carbon handlebars
The GS2-L Evo handlebar grips are fully compatible with carbon handlebars. Thanks to the newly developed inner core, installation is particularly easy and safe without damaging the sensitive handlebars. The grips are therefore ideal for modern carbon handlebars and offer both performance and protection.

Highest quality, short distances, more sustainability
Design, development, production - everything about the GS2 Evo is "Made in Germany". This guarantees the highest standards across all manufacturing processes: maximum product quality, short transportation routes, fast delivery times and secure supply chains. By sourcing all raw materials from Germany and using almost exclusively recycled plastics, we also contribute to increased sustainability and produce virtually waste-free.
Grip rubber made in Germany
The material of the Ergon grips meets the highest quality standards, is TÜV-certified, durable and unique worldwide, using only medical white oil as a plasticizer. The UV-stable Longlife rubber compound is developed and manufactured exclusively for Ergon in Germany. Ergonomics, product design and engineering - all made in Germany.
Always clamps, and that's a good thing
The GP series clamping system is extremely secure and easy to install. Each handle is fixed with just one screw and is thus reliably protected against twisting. Also important: Ergon aluminum clamps are forged and not pressed. The GP3 and other GP models with our super-light, flexible bar ends made of glass-fiber composite with non-slip rubber inlays provide you with additional gripping positions.
It's all in the mix
Minimal friction - maximum comfort: The super-soft, UV-stable Longlife rubber compound developed by Ergon offers reliable grip when cycling with its texture fields, lies comfortably in the hand and noticeably increases riding enjoyment.
Fits every gear type
Some models in our GP series, including the GP2, are available in special versions for different gear systems. Both grips are the same length for regular gears. The version for Gripshift® or Dual-Twist-Shift twist shifters includes two shortened grips, for Rohloff®, Nexus® and Single-Twist-Shift only the grip on the right-hand side is shortened.
From the original wing grip to the GP2 Evo
The Ergon GP1 has been the reference for bicycle wing grips for 20 years. Proven millions of times over, the global bestseller has won countless tests and awards. But that was not enough for Ergon. They have continuously improved the original for touring and fitness riders in terms of function, materials and workmanship and are now setting a new milestone with the Evo version. More ergonomics is not possible.
