Product information "GP1-L Grips BioCork"

The GP1 BioKork provides ultimate ergonomics for the hand just as the rest of Ergon’s Performance Comfort series do, however the unique qualities of cork means that it is now antibacterial and hypoallergenic. Cork’s natural damping qualities also make it an ideal grip material, and its now density mean the resulting grip is a lot lighter.

Test result: overall grade 1.6 & touring tip

Features - Ergon GP1-L Grips BioKork

Organically grown - 40% cork
Ergonomics, function, feel and sustainability: this variant of the successful GP1 model combines all that and is therefore particularly popular. The handle consists of 40 percent cork. The material comes from organic farming in Portugal and meets strict ecological guidelines. In the inner support, 20 percent of the plastic is replaced by grass fibers.

ecologically sustainable - Ergon "GreenLab" initiative
Sustainability is high on Ergon's agenda. Under the "GreenLab" initiative, packaging is developed from recycled material, and entire products such as the GP1 BioKork grip are made from particularly environmentally friendly materials. All parts of the handle are consistently manufactured in an ecologically sustainable manner.

Secure clamping system
The clamping system of the GP series is extremely secure and easy to assemble. Each handle is fixed with only one screw and is thus reliably protected against twisting. Also important: Ergon aluminum clamps are forged and not pressed. Additional grip positions allow you the GP models with our super-light, flexible bar ends made of glass fiber composite with grippy rubber inlays.

Hand-feel - The mixture makes it
Minimal friction - maximum comfort: the super-soft, UV-stable Longlife rubber compound developed by Ergon offers reliable grip when cycling with its texture fields, lies comfortably in the hand and noticeably increases the riding fun.

Twist grip special - Fits every gear type
Some models of our GP series are available in special versions for different gears. For a regular gearshift, both grips are the same length. The version for Gripshift® or Dual-Twist-Shift twist shifters includes two shortened grips, for Rohloff®, Nexus® and Single-Twist-Shift only the grip on the right side is shortened.

Technologies

Easy on the nerves
When cycling, the hands support a large part of the upper body weight on the handlebars. This creates high pressure on the small grip surface. Often pinched off is the very sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs in the area of the little finger ball close below the skin surface. This can lead to feelings of numbness. The wing grip increases the contact area of the hand, distributes the pressure over a larger area and prevents discomfort.

No kink - no tingling
The bending of the wrist compresses nerves, tendons and blood vessels. As a result, the carpal tunnel narrows and can damage the median nerve. Longer bike rides with increasing fatigue make it difficult to maintain a healthy posture. The wing design of our GP grips supports the hand, automatically brings the wrist into an ergonomically ideal position, prevents numbness, tingling and pain.

Thick and thin for best control
So that you always have your bike under control, your hand should not completely enclose the handle. Ergon offers many grips optionally in the sizes "Small" and "Large". The difference refers to the grip width. That is, a larger hand has a better form fit on a thicker grip, while for a smaller hand a thinner grip fits best. For hand (shoe) sizes 6.5-8.5 we recommend the Small size, for 8.5-10.5 the Large size.

Sehr angenehme Griffposition, tolle Verarbeitung. Montage mit einer Schraube natürlich kinderleicht. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Zwar kein Allerheilmittel, aber besser als die Standardgriffe. Das krippeln in den Händen hat sich ein wenig gebessert.

Musa B.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Sehr schöne haptik und entlastet das Handgelenk sodass sich längere Touren problemlos fahren lassen.
