These confidence-inspiring wheels feature a new rim profile that makes them lighter while improving their shock resistance and puncture resistance. To further reduce weight, the number of spokes on the front wheel has been reduced from 32 to 28, which increases responsiveness when changing direction. And all this built around a hub that already has several World Cup wins to its credit: the 240.
Ratchet EXP is the lightest freewheel system from DT Swiss and is therefore used in DT Swiss products for the highest requirements. It is used in the 180 and 240 hubs.
PRO LOCK TECHNOLOGY
The Pro Lock process involves injecting a two-component adhesive into the nipple thread, which allows for the construction of extremely durable wheels. Once the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated, fully curing at room temperature after approximately 6 - 7 hours. Multiple re-centering is possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
