The Bosch Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) sets a new standard for riding dynamics and agility in the e-bike sector. It is designed to be powerful, lightweight and quiet – with a clear focus on maximum uphill flow and a natural, controlled riding experience.

Even in its standard configuration, the drive unit delivers a balanced combination of performance, efficiency and range, with 85 Nm of torque, 600 watts of power and 340 per cent assistance. The system is complemented by a low weight of just 2.8 kg – around 100 g lighter than its predecessor – and is therefore optimised for both sporty and efficient use.

Bosch is significantly expanding this performance level with the new Performance Upgrade 2.0. From May 2026, the drive unit’s performance can be individually enhanced: more power, higher torque and a significantly increased support factor are available – directly controllable via the Bosch eBike Flow app.

The free software update enables a noticeable increase in performance for compatible systems. The maximum assistance increases to up to 600 per cent, whilst the peak power of up to 750 watts remains available for a longer period of time. In addition, the riding modes can be customised – precisely tailored to the area of use and riding style.

The upgrade is most effective at lower speeds and ensures particularly powerful acceleration from a standing start. The legally prescribed assistance limit of 25 km/h remains unchanged.

With the upgrade, the Performance Line CX achieves a maximum torque of up to 120 Nm, a motor output of up to 750 watts and an assistance output of up to 600 per cent. This further enhances the sporty character of the platform without compromising control or the natural riding feel.

eMTB+ mode
With the built-in ‘Dynamic Control’, you ride with full control, even when you’ve increased your performance settings. On steep, bumpy terrain, you enjoy superior propulsion, whilst on loose or wet surfaces it acts like traction control.

eMTB mode and Extended Boost
The eMTB mode responds progressively to your input and instantly recognises how much power you need based on your pedal pressure – dynamically, with maximum traction and always in control. With the integrated Extended Boost, all it takes is a deliberate push on the pedal and the Drive Unit propels you effortlessly over steps and stones.

Push assist and hill start assist
With push assist, you can easily push your eMTB, whilst the Drive Unit automatically adjusts the pushing speed to suit the gradient and surface. In addition, hill start assist enables a controlled start with high traction, even on steep terrain. Hill Hold is active in both cases: your eMTB stays in place and does not roll back unexpectedly.

Bosch eBike ABS Pro
ABS Pro is ideal for professional eBikers: designed for fast, sporty downhill riding and braking. You can make full use of your braking skills whilst still feeling how the system enhances performance.

eShift with TRP
You can choose whether you want eShift with TRP to change gears automatically for you, or whether you want to change gears yourself on varied terrain with quick manoeuvres – simply at the touch of a button. With eShift, gear changes are efficient and precise.

PowerMore 250
Compact and weighing just 1.5 kilograms, the range extender can be easily attached to the water bottle holder. It is compatible with all batteries in the smart system. Please check in advance whether you can use the range extender with your eBike.

eBike Lock – free extra protection against theft

The ideal addition – park your eBike. Enjoy some time out.
eBike Lock is free of charge for all eBikes equipped with the smart system. When you switch on your eBike, it automatically checks whether your smartphone is nearby to act as a digital key. Only then is the motor assistance enabled and your eBike unlocked.

Display as a key – use your Kiox 300 or Kiox 500 as a key
It’s as intuitive as it sounds: simply remove the display from its mount and stow it away. This instantly provides your eBike with extra protection. Put the display back in place and use it to activate the motor assistance so you can set off.

Unlocking via smartphone – unlock your eBike manually using your smartphone
Instead of unlocking your eBike automatically, you can also unlock it manually using your smartphone via a button on the home screen.

Battery Lock – digitally lock the battery

Additional protection – protect a valuable component of your e-bike
With Battery Lock, you can also protect your e-bike battery digitally: this function ensures that your battery can no longer be used if it is stolen.

Digital keys – flexibility with a digital key
You can use several digital keys at the same time for Battery Lock: your smartphone with the eBike Flow app and your Kiox 300 or Kiox 500.

Whether you’re just parking your eBike for a short while or leaving it for a longer period, you can stay connected and put your mind at ease via your smartphone.

Two-stage alarm – audible and visual alarm
Your eBike will alert you with audible signals and illuminated LEDs if it detects movement or is moved. You will also receive a notification on your smartphone.

Tracking functions – useful location tracking

Unleash more power for your e-bike. The Performance Upgrade 2.0 not only delivers better acceleration but also stronger assistance. Software optimisations give you more powerful propulsion and keep you going faster for longer – with even more precise control. Maximum torque of up to 120 Nm per update. Values may vary depending on the type of gear system. Higher performance settings can lead to increased wear and reduced range. The e-bike manufacturer may limit the maximum torque at the factory. Consequently, only the maximum value approved by the manufacturer can be set in the eBike Flow app.

Trick Check – More skills. More fun.
Improve your skills and analyse your performance: Trick Check automatically recognises and records the type of tricks you perform, whether jumps, stoppies, manuals or wheelies. To help you improve your riding technique, you receive direct feedback on the display and via an audible signal. During your ride, you can view the distance, duration, height or angle on your display for eight seconds. After your ride, you can find your best figures in the eBike Flow app. This function is enabled by default on your Kiox 400C and Purion 400. For all other displays, you can enable it at any time in the display settings and switch the signal tone on or off. The sensor system is configured to react only to distinct tricks.

More buttons mean more functions: with the Mini Remote, you gain access to practical features such as smart push assistance and can switch your eBike light on or off.

Front-wheel ABS
Wheel speed sensors monitor the speed of the wheels. If the front wheel threatens to lock, the Bosch eBike ABS regulates the braking pressure – for greater riding stability and better manoeuvrability.

Rear-wheel lift control
The intelligent rear wheel lift control reduces the likelihood of the rear wheel lifting during heavy braking. This reduces the risk of a rollover and allows the front brake to be used more effectively.

ABS Cargo – Tour+ mode

Stylish e-bike design
Like all Bosch PowerTubes, the PowerTube 600 / 800 is seamlessly integrated into the frame. An attractive e-bike design and high capacity – a combination without compromise. A new, lighter casing has been used for the battery. Provided the e-bike manufacturer has designed the e-bike to accommodate this, it can be easily replaced – to increase or decrease the range.
