The Castelli Aria Shell Jacket is a modern interpretation of the classic wind jacket - perfect for long descents from the jersey pocket or the first hour of riding until it gets warmer. In the past, such jackets were simple nylon shells that had to be cut generously due to a lack of elasticity in order to fit all body shapes - on the bike as well as before and after.
Castelli has completely redefined what a wind jacket should be and how it should be constructed. Castelli has integrated elasticated, tight-knit panels at the sides and sleeves for a modern, close fit - for aero benefits on any terrain. And it actually retains more heat than a flapping jacket.
The compact design takes up very little space in your jersey pocket. The stretch panels are treated to repel water and help in light mist - but it's not a true rain jacket.
