The battery is concealed from view and is also perfectly protected by the frame. Thanks to a convenient feature, the battery clicks out of the frame by approximately 2 cm when unlocked, making it easier to grip. Recesses on the top are suitable for attaching bottle cages or decorative covers.

This opens up new possibilities for bike designers, manufacturers and end customers. The PowerTube 400 combines practicality with style. “The e-bike has long since become an established mode of transport in mainstream society. Design, in particular, is becoming increasingly important. With the PowerTube, we’re setting new trends in pedelecs,” says Claus Fleischer, Managing Director of Bosch eBike Systems. The PowerTube 400 can be integrated into various frames and is therefore suitable for a wide range of bike types – from city and touring bikes to e-mountain bikes. The battery can be removed from the top, bottom or side. A two-stage mechanism ensures a high level of safety and ease of use when inserting and removing the battery: when unlocked, the battery clicks out of the frame by around two centimetres, making it easy to grip intuitively. A safety catch prevents the battery from falling out, whilst the frame also provides optimum protection. Furthermore, the PowerTube 400 can be charged directly whilst mounted on the bike. Recesses on the top allow for the attachment of either bottle cages or decorative covers. The surface of the PowerTube 400 features an elegant, black anodised aluminium finish.
