More off-road speed – parts and components for cyclocross and gravel bikes
The success of gravel and cyclocross is not just another bike industry trend, but a logical evolution on the one hand and an overdue reminiscence of past cycling glory on the other. This is where characteristics and components that have proven their worth on roads, paths, and trails meet to offer riders plenty of freedom and the greatest possible fun. The differences between gravel bikes that are rather made for bikepacking, commuting, adventure rides or MTB-style use mainly manifest in the frames, wheels, tires, handlebars, shifting groups and the additional equipment.
It was only a matter of time before gravel-specific shifting components would conquer the tracks. The Shimano GRX group is the first of its kind and perfectly combines the two worlds of road cycling and mountain biking. But Shimano’s Tiagra, 105 and Ultegra components are also popular for cyclocross and gravel use, as is SRAM's Rival 1. So feel free to mix and match – as long as the components are compatible, of course!
