La Sportiva Prodigio Max are mountain running shoes specially developed for ultra runners looking for maximum cushioning, comfort, protection and stability on long mountain tours. They are suitable for all types of trails over medium and long distances up to the toughest ultra trail events such as Tor des Géants, Swiss Peak or Tahoe 200, where many hours at a time are covered in the terrain. The centrepiece is the new XFlow Endurance midsole, whose super-critical foam significantly increases resistance and durability, ensuring that the cushioning feels consistently comfortable from the first to the last kilometre.
The sole has a large contact area and a medium rocker, which improves stability when rolling and supports a fluid, controlled running feel on mixed terrain. The bi-component FriXion Red outsole combines a durable rubber compound in the heel area with a grippier compound in the midfoot and forefoot area to offer the best possible compromise between durability and maximum grip. This means that the shoes remain reliable even on long, technical stages without losing traction on rock, gravel or forest paths.
The new Comfort Wire upper is made of extremely soft Light TPU fabrics that are in direct contact with the foot and are structured on the outside by TPU threads. This construction ensures a very soft, snug fit with appropriate support, so that the foot is securely enclosed without creating pressure points. In combination with the enclosing wrapping system, the Prodigio Max is the ideal companion for particularly long and demanding outings where maximum comfort and secure support are equally important
