Shimano DURA ACE Di2 ST-R9170+BR-R9170 11-speed STI rear unit J-Kit TOP-DEAL
Product information "DURA ACE Di2 ST-R9170+BR-R9170 11-speed STI rear unit J-Kit TOP-DEAL"
With their narrower and elegant horns, the Di2 2 x 11-speed STI levers ST-R9170 with BR-R9170 brake calliper for hydraulic disc brakes have improved ergonomics, which not only leads to increased comfort but also to improved control (without original packaging).
Most advanced component group ever: The Shimano Dura Ace Di2 11-speed ST-R9170 + BR-R9170 rear disc brake
The hydraulic brakes bring a whole new level of braking control and reliability to the road bike segment at DURA-ACE level and allow maximum confidence in braking performance even in the most demanding weather conditions. The new levers also contribute to easier and faster shifting thanks to their shorter lever travel. Of course, the reach can be adjusted on all levers so that the grip position can be ergonomically customised. Riders who opt for the Di2 shifting system also have the option of using the E-TUBE software to switch the multi-shift function on and off individually for each button and to set the function assignment to each individual button.
The hydraulic disc brake callipers can be mounted directly on the frame thanks to their flat-mount design, which ensures a flatter profile and increases efficiency. Heat management, i.e. the effective dissipation of heat generated during braking, is further improved with the new DURA-ACE brake discs and ensures even more stable braking performance. The enlarged adapter between the braking surface and the cooling fins on the disc improves heat dissipation from the disc surface by a further 30 °C compared to the ICE-TECH FREEZA brake discs.
With the R9100 series, SHIMANO presents the latest generation of the flagship DURA-ACE groupset, the most advanced component group of all time. The new DURA-ACE is the answer to the question posed by many professionals and ambitious amateurs as to whether and how the current, already immensely high level of performance could be increased even further.
When developing the new DURA-ACE R9100, the SHIMANO engineers' top priority was to scrutinise every single component, every single part down to the smallest detail and to improve it in such a way that the rider's input is optimised and the output of the overall system is maximised. In other words, the aim was to minimise the energy loss between the power that the rider puts into the system and the overall performance that comes out at the end. That's why every single DURA-ACE R9100 component is designed to work as efficiently as possible with all the other components in the system. This clearly demonstrates the core of SHIMANO's philosophy of components developed as a system. The result is SYSTEM SUPREMACY - the superiority of the system over the sum of its parts.

Technology
SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM
The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has proven itself over many years. The main difference between the systems is that the shifting process is no longer mechanical but electronic. This electronic shifting system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under all conceivable conditions, e.g. rain, mud, extreme cold, cobblestones and a combination of these factors. Shifting is done by simply pressing a button. No effort is required to change gear, which has clear advantages as the rider always has a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by changing gear. The shifting system enables precise and effortless shifting in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. The shifting performance can also no longer be affected by dirty or stretched cables, as the shifting signal is transmitted electronically. The operating buttons work in a similar way to mechanical dual control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies all parts with power via "plug & play" connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, expansion and frost and guarantees low maintenance. And the SMPCE1 establishes the connection between PC and components to update the firmware. Digital devices stay up to date by updating the firmware and provide better function.
Synchro-Shift
SHIMANO's Synchro-Shift technology is a feature first introduced to road bikes with the DURA-ACE R9100. Synchro-Shift simplifies shifting immensely and significantly reduces the amount of decision-making processes that take place while riding. Particularly in decisive racing situations or when riding at the limit, riders often have to complete a large number of decision-making processes in addition to the physical strain, which are often disrupted and lead to wrong decisions. The fewer decision-making processes there are, the better decisions are made and the more attention remains focussed on the race. This is exactly what SHIMANO Synchro-Shift technology makes possible, which always selects the optimum next larger or next smaller gear ratio combination, regardless of whether this requires shifting at the rear derailleur and/or the front derailleur.
Two modes are available for SHIMANO Synchro-Shift technology:
Full Synchro-Shift: The front derailleur reacts to the shifting operations that the rider performs on the rear derailleur. Essentially, this means that only one shift lever with two shifters is required to shift the rear derailleur and front derailleur.
Semi Synchro-Shift: The rear derailleur reacts to the shifting operations that the rider performs on the front derailleur. The rear derailleur automatically provides the necessary compensation for small cadence jumps when shifting up or down on the front derailleur.
