Product information "Mara Pro Lite Can Trunnion shock"

The Manitou Mara Pro Lite Can Trunnion is a shock specially developed for cross country and features the new LITE CAN with Balance Groove. The new design includes an active Pos/Neg system called Balance Groove Technology.

This design allows for the equalization of positive and negative pressure, ensuring excellent compliance over small bumps in the early part of the shock’s travel and providing outstanding compliance over small bumps regardless of the rider’s height.

The XC-specific shim stack has been carefully engineered to provide an extremely firm lockout while ensuring an amazingly soft open mode for optimal traction and rider control.

Technology

Incremental Platform Adjust (IPA) Damper
The four-stage IPA (Incremental Platform Adjust) damper offers a wide range of compression adjustment options, from an open mode that's ready to fly over obstacles to a fixed platform setting that gives you the support you need when you're riding up the mountain with your legs on fire. Two separate shims are used to maintain an ideal balance of compression damping at low and high speeds throughout the adjustment range. The first of these is the preload stack, which is controlled by the IPA knob. Turning the knob clockwise increases the preload on the shims directly, without the use of springs or carriers. The absence of springs and carriers minimizes moving mass and maximizes the speed at which the shims can react to the trail, keeping your rear wheel smooth and composed no matter how uneven the trail. The second shim stack is a fixed-speed stack designed to increase sensitivity to small bumps and deliver the right amount of high-speed compression to steer the wheel with the least amount of harshness. This gives the rider more chassis control, better small bump sensitivity, with excellent ground control, less punctures through rock gardens and a phenomenal ride quality in all conditions.
