Product information "Celsius R Artic GTX - Winter Road Cycling Shoes"

A winter road cycling shoe for those who do not skip training even in extreme weather conditions. Made of waterproof and windproof Koala Gore-Tex® membrane, it keeps feet warm and perfectly insulated even in the coldest conditions.

Warming winter road bike shoe with GORE-Tex: the Celsius R Arctic GTX® from Northwave

Excellent power transport is guaranteed thanks to the fiber-reinforced NRG Air Carbon sole with a stiffness index of 8.0. The upper shoe with its overlap construction minimizes wind resistance, wraps the foot perfectly, avoids pressure points and transfers every watt of power to the drivetrain without loss. Additional TPU reinforcements provide 360° protection across the entire upper.

A simple and consistent fit is ensured by the SLW2 twist closure system, the only one with a step-by-step release that allows the shoe closure to be adjusted to the millimeter in a quick and intuitive way.

The new Easyfit Climaflex entry area combines the extreme flexibility of the Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane with the high thermal insulation of neoprene, guaranteeing mobility and protection from the cold and wet.

The ergonomic heel shape with its anatomical fit thanks to the latest thermoforming technology in conjunction with the Arctic 4Layer insole made of EVA + aluminum and EVA + pile ensures excellent thermal insulation.

The 360° reflective inserts ensure greater safety in poor visibility conditions.

Sock tips for Gore-Tex® bike shoes

The socks worn in shoes with Gore-Tex® must match the functional properties of the shoes. Although you might think that thick socks are the first choice to protect you from the cold, they have a serious disadvantage: the thicker the sock, the more difficult it is to wick moisture away from the foot. In the worst case, the sock can even become completely soaked with sweat. This creates the unpleasant feeling of dampness and wetness. However, this does not depend on the shoe. The moisture comes from the inside. So it's better to wear slightly thinner socks made from a functional material that wicks moisture away to the outside and thus promotes evaporation through the membrane pores.

Technologies

NRG Air Carbon sole
The NRG Air Carbon Reinforced sole is even stiffer thanks to a new mixture of glass fiber and carbon-reinforced nylon. Like the entire road sole collection, this sole is equipped with the Airflow ventilation system, which ensures optimum air circulation in the shoe thanks to the openings.

S.L.W.2
Maximum precision and ease of use. The side operating button offers two functions: simply press the button for step-by-step opening - or lift the button to open the shoe completely immediately. The ergonomic design of the fastener is adapted to the natural shape of the foot. For added comfort with minimal height and weight. The outer elastic cover ensures easier and better operability. The special rope used makes use of the best technologies from sailing and can be easily replaced if necessary.

Thank you bike-discount for fast service and delivery, but unfortunately I was not lucky, I have Northwave Extreme XCM GTX MTB shoes in size 46 eu/12 uk/13 us/30 cm that fit my foot, I ordered Northwave Celsius R Arctic GTX with these the same dimensions with a difference of only "cm", the latter were 29.7 cm. When I received and put on the shoes, the difference was 0.5 cm in the big direction, the leg "dangled" even with a very tight sock. Unfortunately, I sent them back. I would like to recommend these shoes, they are well made warm, but the size is taken more seriously and judiciously, it is even possible to take 0.5 sizes smaller, it is a pity that there is no photo of the insole with the size in cm ...bike-discount thanks!

Endlich warme Füße! Und bequem ist der Schuh auch noch. Ich war sehr skeptisch, ob die GTX Membran was bringt. Aber ich bin voll und ganz überzeugt. Kein lästiges Gefummel, geht alles gut von der Hand.
