On my Devinci Django Aloy, the original Maxxis tyres have too much roll resistance to start a 3400 km trip from Bruges to Lisbon, pulling a Bob Ibex one wheel trailer. For my trip to Rome, I mounted Continental Race King Protection 2.1 x29'. Under way on a rocky underground, the front tyre lost too fast grip. Half of the tyre was gone as I arrived in Rome. Looking for a larger 'fast rolling' tyre, I discovered the Johnny Watts 365 and the normal one. I mounted the 365 in front and the normal one on my back wheel, due to a better pad pattern (will last longer than the 365 I presume). Coming from the Maxxis tyres, the difference was amazing: these tyres even roll better than the Continental Race King Protection and due to the width of 2.3 instead of 2.1, I feel more comfortable. Only the weight is 30% more than a Conti. I will give an update after my trip to Lisbon (just like the trip to Rome, I go my own way: no predefined itinerary. Rome 2400 Km - 27500 Altitude meters. Lisbon 3400 Km and planned 34000 Altitude meters both itineraries most of the time on white roads and black ones in Komoot).
