Lightweight & breathable road shoe: The Fizik PS Aeroweave
The pursuit of weight reduction and better ventilation while maintaining support and protection was the reason for FIZIK to develop a completely new material: Aeroweave. Now in its second generation, Aeroweave weaves nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymers for an even lighter shoe that retains its original strength and provides the strength and support needed in competition.
The signature Powerstrap closure system combines reliable simplicity with foot-hugging support for increased performance, comfort and support while pedaling. For the Powerstrap Aeroweave, the system has been redesigned to save weight without sacrificing support or functionality. While most conventional Velcro straps simply pull both sides of the shoe's upper together, the Vento Powerstrap configuration wraps a strap around the foot, providing a secure hold with just two straps. The instep and midfoot are separately adjustable for customized fit and compression.
The Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave also features an all-new outsole, the R3, developed with an improved carbon fiber structure and a new design to save weight without compromising stiffness. With an index of 10, the R3 is a stiff outsole that enables optimal power transfer. Two wide vents and deep internal channels provide cooling airflow to help manage temperature. The R3 outsole is tuned to the latest trends in bike fitting and, like all current Fizik models, offers recessed cleat positioning to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, which is particularly suitable for very aggressive, forward-facing aero positions.
