SILCA Super Secret Chain lube è nato come progetto per sviluppare il più veloce lubrificante a cera Hot Melt disponibile più di un anno fa. Josh raccomanda da anni la cera Hot Melt e aiuta i ciclisti e i triatleti professionisti a passare la cera sulle catene e voleva portare la sua formula di lubrificazione ai nostri clienti; la sfida consisteva nel capire come sciogliere, immergere e agitare in modo coerente la catena con diversi design e temperature. Il progetto ha preso una piega affascinante dal mondo della IndyCar quando Josh è stato presentato a un gruppo che aveva sviluppato una tecnologia per inserire polveri di cera su microscala in una soluzione che si asciugava rapidamente e formava un rivestimento indistinguibile dall'immersione a caldo. La combinazione di cera liquida che si asciuga all'aria e di solfuro di tungsteno si dimostrò rapidamente in grado di battere tutte le cere a caldo attualmente disponibili nei test di attrito, oltre a essere molto più veloce e facile da applicare.

Mein erster Kettenwachs, neue Kette entfettet im Ultraschallbad, aufgetragen und Ruhe. Bis jetzt zufrieden.
Ich wachse meine Ketten mit Silca und habe das Chain Lube als Ergänzung und zur Verlängerung der Laufzeit bis zum nächsten Wachsen geholt. Von der Schmierung her ist das Wachs top. Die Kette läuft mit sehr geringem Wiederstand und die Schmutzanhaftung ist mit dem Chain Lube immer noch sehr gering. Die Aufbringung ist die satte Katastrophe. Die Tülle ist sehr ungenau. Entweder man badet die Kette oder es kommt zuwenig. Mitunter tropft es auch munter aus der Flasche und man darf putzen. Der Verbrauch ist sehr hoch. Ich würde es ausser für das Nachwachsen nicht empfehlen. Aber auch dafür ist es aus meiner Sicht zu teuer und die Flasche zu schlecht zu dosieren.
I've been using Super Secret for the last couple of months. It keeps the chain clean and there is little measurable chain wear. If you're looking for a wax-based drip lube, then Super Secret is highly recommended. Also, based on friction testing (google it), Silca is one of the best. Easy to use, doesn't drip to the floor. Well worth the money.
The best wax lubricant I use and I've tried various oil lubricants as well. I ride mixed surfaces, all year round, in central Europe +32 -8°C, roads, gravel, forest, mud... It doesn't matter if it's summer, raining or freezing, you'll appreciate it. Dirt does not stick to the chain and it is easy to clean. The wax is liquid and easy to apply, approx. 100-200 km, ideally wipe the chain dry after each ride. Let it wax!!!
Ich hatte bereits viele Kettenwachse der einschlägigen Hersteller (Finish Line, Squirt, Dynamic, Peaty's) in Anwendung, aber dieses hier kann ich wirklich empfehlen!! Es fühlt sich direkt top an und hält auch bei schlechtem Wetter länger, als andere Wachse.
