Even if you're out and about without clipless pedals, you won't get your feet wet: the cleat mount in the sole is waterproof sealed. The insulation keeps your feet warm even in icy temperatures. An additional layer in the toe box takes the wind-chill effect out of the equation. Unlike its predecessor, Vaude has positioned the closure of the Minaki III STX Winter MTB shoe on the side and not covered by the flap. This means that the fit can be adjusted at any time - even when wearing gloves. The sole is relatively stiff for optimum power transfer to the pedals, but still grippy enough for carrying and pushing off-road. To protect against sharp stones, the hard-wearing upper also has a robust TPU layer in the heel and toe area.
