When developing X-Tubo technology tubolito had a clear and ambitious goal: to produce a bicycle inner tube that cannot be punctured. Therefore, they built tubes made of different materials and produced them with different methods. These prototypes were subjected to various tests. Their approach was to conduct tests that reflect the daily use. Thus they rode across thorns, pieces of broken glass and even over their exclusively developed ramp equipped with a nail. Step by step they got closer to their goal until they found a product which satisfied their high expectations: make punctures a thing of the past.

Der Erste Schlauch ist am Ventil eingerissen, beim nächsten hat sich das eingeklebte Ventil gelöst und ist undicht geworden. Beim jetzigen Schlauch habe ich schon zwei Flicken verklebt. Dornen können also nach wie vor zu Löchern führen und Flickzeug ist nach wie vor nötig. Etwas weniger Gewicht, leichte Montage und bessere Alterungsbeständigkeit sind die Vorteile.
Top Schlauch für City/Trekking. Bin damit in Conti Terra Trail und -Speed auf meinem Stadtrad unterwegs. Extrem schneller Antritt, kaum Schwungmasse, hat mein Stadtrad signifikant agiler gemacht. Gleichzeitig knalle ich damit häufig ungefedert über Kopfsteinpflaster, Glasscherben und scharfe Bürgersteigkanten – steckt der Schlauch seit einem Jahr (Garantie jetzt abgelaufen) problemlos weg. Einzig die Luftdichtigkeit kann man ggü. einem speziell dafür vulkanisierten Schlauch kritisieren. Ca. alle 1–2 Monate sollte man die Luftpumpe anstrengen. Ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden und würde den X-Tubo jederzeit wieder kaufen, wenn Tubeless für den Zweck impraktikabel ist.
