You can use this spacer for your 7-speed Shimano cassette on your 8/9-speed Shimano free wheel hub. I've used it for the Shimano CS-HG200 7-speed cassette and the Shimano 8/9-speed free wheel hub for FH-M475/FH-C201/FH-RM40 but still had some degree of vertical movement with the cassette on the free wheel after tightening with the required torque. I've added another Shimano spacer - Y1Z807000 - to eradicate the cassette movement.
