Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "XT BL-M8200+BR-M8200 rear disc brake J-Kit with SM-MA-F180P/P2 TOP-DEAL"
Designed with ergonomics and the human hand in mind, the Shimano XT BL-M8200 2-finger hydraulic brake lever offers a powerful pull with smooth lever feel and modulation for ultimate control in combination with the 2-piston BR-M8200 caliper. A new, closer pivot point follows the natural arc of the finger, while the 5-degree upward bend of the lever and the tuned grip width favour a natural position for confidently mastering technical trail sections (without original packaging).
Robust, intuitive and consistent: XT BL-M8200+BR-M8220 2-piston rear disc brakes from Shimano
The revised SERVO WAVE optimises the performance curve without friction, while the new low-viscosity mineral oil keeps the braking force constant in all temperatures and on all terrains.
The XT BR-M8200 2-piston hydraulic brake caliper with post-mount standard is a further development of the previous lightweight post-mount brake caliper from SHIMANO and is suitable for cross-country in combination with the BL-M8200 brake lever. Heat-resistant plastic pistons, resin and metal pad options and the new low-viscosity mineral oil make the M8200 caliper the ideal option for all two-piston braking requirements.
Since its introduction in the early 1980s, the DEORE XT from Shimano has revolutionised mountain biking with every new edition. The DEORE XT M8200 Di2 is the latest version of the legendary groupset and, with its components, offers all types of mountain bikers stunningly fast and reliable shifting, a robust drivetrain design and a clever braking system. The DEORE XT M8200 Di2 benefits from the latest developments of Shimano's recently launched MTB flagship, the XTR M9200 Race groupset. The technologies and design of the DEORE XT are based on the XTR. The result is a groupset that meets the everyday and special requirements of mountain biking and consistently redefines what is possible in terms of performance on two wheels.
