Lightweight and compact - the Pirelli P Zero SmarTUBE
Instead of the standard material for bicycle inner tubes, butyl, the Pirelli P Zero SmarTUBE relies on thermoplastic polyurethane, TPU. This is an advanced plastic that is characterized by elasticity and mechanical strength. The result is a tube that can be up to 70 percent lighter, up to 50 percent more compact and overall more puncture resistant than a comparable tube made of butyl.
The P ZERO SmarTUBE is the ultimate evolution for cyclists who continue to rely on the standard clincher tire setup and want to increase the performance of their road bike by saving weight where it counts: on the outer area of the rotating mass.
Note: TPU is a plastic material that will not stretch back under extreme deformation - unlike butyl, which has shrinkage characteristics. TPU always needs a counterpart - in this case the casing - to remain dimensionally stable. For this reason, the tube should be slightly inflated during installation (maximum 0.3 bar) and then mounted with the tyre.

rollt leichter auf kosten des fahrkomforts - verliert relativ viel luft (ca 0.5bar während einer 5 stündigen ausfahrt). bedenklich stimmen mich andere beiträge, die von abrupten komplettverlust des reifendrucks während der fahrt berichten. ich werde mir wahrscheinlich wieder die "patzerei" mit dem latex/tubeless antun.
Absolut überzeugend! Sehr leicht, hält die Luft besser als 2-3mal so schwere Butylschläuche. Da spart man mal eben 100g fühlbar an Masse und Massenträgheitsmoment mit kleinem Invest. Einmal befüllt kann man locker eine Woche ohne Nachpumpen fahren. Eine echt Erleichterung - Pumpen ist doof… Tips für die Montage: An Reifeninnenfläche Babypuder oder Talkum aufbringen, Schlauch mit „Lungenkraft“ anpumpen. Er legt sich dann sehr willig in den Reifen. Nur gerundete, schmale Reifenheber benutzen wie z.B. Campagnolo. Nicht diese gelben breiten, rechteckigen wie Conti, Mavic, Michelin etc. mit den recht spitzen Außenecken! Dem Ventil keine unnötigen Querkräfte zumuten und nicht zu lang über die Felge stehen lassen - passende Längen wählen. Gleiches gilt für die Barbieri und Eclipse.
Superlight, superfast, easy to install. I'd like to recommend!
Unglaublich gut. Auch bei mir über 1000 Kilometer ohne jegliche Probleme. Rollt wie tubeless nur ohne Sauerei und die Luft hält auch noch länger als beim klassischen Butyl Schlauch.
Freitag montiert, ging super Samstag die ersten 50 gefahren, Sonntag die nächsten 50 keine Probleme. Gewichtsunterschied macht sich beim Rollen bemerkbar, ich hoffe meine halten auch 1000.
Alles top. 1000 km ohne Probleme. Hoffe es geht so weiter.
