Step-by-step to perfect performance
Follow these instructions to utilise the full potential of Muc-Off Dark Energy Chain Wax:
- Preparation: Shake the bottle vigorously so that the highly efficient wax particles are optimally distributed inside.
- Deep cleaning: Thoroughly remove any old residue from your drivetrain and allow it to dry completely - an absolutely grease-free base is the secret to perfect grip.
- Precision work: Apply a single drop of Dark Energy to each chain link. It's best to start at the quick-release fastener to keep an overview.
- Work in: Crank the chain in reverse for at least two full rotations so that the wax can penetrate deep into the pins.
- Perfect distribution: Shift through all gears slowly to coat the teeth of the cassette and the derailleur pulleys very thinly with the protective film.
- Patience pays off: Allow the wax to harden completely for at least 12 hours. In cooler climates or high humidity, 24 hours is ideal for the barrier to reach its maximum strength.
- Care in dusty & sunny conditions: If the chain becomes acoustically more present in the terrain, simply wipe it briefly with a dry cloth and apply a fresh coat.
- Care in wet & muddy conditions: After a ride in wet conditions, you should clean the drive immediately and apply a fresh coat of lubricant to ensure long-lasting silent efficiency.
