The Airstripes back system, with its low-profile back panel and large ventilation channels, together with the perforated shoulder straps and hip fins with pockets, ensures optimum air circulation, weight distribution close to the body and, consequently, a snug fit on any terrain. The flat lid design offers plenty of headroom – even when wearing a helmet. Thanks to fastenings on the shoulder straps, the carabiners of the via ferrata set are always within easy reach. What’s more, equipment and gear are quickly accessible thanks to the large zipped front access and side pockets.

Deuter Airstripes
The unique Airstripes system ensures a wobble-free fit with ventilation: fresh air circulates continuously between the Airstripes pads – featuring ventilation channels and a Wide-AirMesh cover – thanks to the minimal contact with the back. At the same time, the weight is always kept close to the body. This means centrifugal forces have little effect and the rucksack cannot slip out of place.
The result:
Whatever your movements, the rucksack sits snugly and securely against your back. At the same time, the Airstripes pads with ventilation channels ensure free air circulation across more than 80 per cent of your back, thanks to their minimal contact area.
Manufactured without PFAS
This product has been manufactured by Deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of environmentally harmful substances that pose a risk to the environment and human health.
PFAS are used, amongst other things, as a coating for rain protection, as they have water-, dirt- and grease-repellent properties
Instead, Deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) waterproofing, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.
Material
D stands for denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 metres of the yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
PES stands for polyester. Polyester fibres are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for and absorb hardly any moisture.
PA stands for polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibres are particularly durable, elastic and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to heavy wear and tear.
REC stands for ‘Recycled’ – the material is made entirely or partly from recycled raw materials.
BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced sustainably and in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with the bluesign® standard.
