52% merino wool, 25% nylon, 20% polyester, 3% elastaneSehr angenehm zu tragen. Eine Woche im Dauertest getragen, ohne Geruchsentwicklung! Insbesondere der hohe Merinoanteil >50% zeichnet die Socken aus. Sehr oft werden "Merino" Socken unter diesem Begriff verkauft, welche nur einen Anteil von 20-30% oder noch weniger Anteil an Merinowolle aufweisen. Leider finden sich hier keine Angaben ob "Mulesing" als Verfahren eingesetzt wird. Mulesing bezeichnet bei australischen / neuseeländischen Schafen (spezielle Züchtungen - ähnlich einer "Turbo Kuh") ein Verfahren welches das Entfernen der Haut rund um den Schwanz von Schafen ohne Schmerzausschaltung (Betäubung) bezeichnet. Auf deutsch: da wird Schafen ohne Betäubung der "Hintern abgeschnitten". Es ist ein in Australien und in Neuseeland gebräuchliches Verfahren, um einen Befall mit Fliegenmaden (Myiasis) zu verhindern. Sehr blutig und nicht tierartgerecht - einzig aus Grund der (Über-)Züchtung damit ein hoher Wollertrag "geerntet" werden kann.
Schön und gut, aber nicht besonders warm. Die Wintersocken von NW sind deutlich wärmer
