EPS LIGHT WEIGHT CARBON FIBER MTB SOLE
Gaerne technology combined with the know-how of Michelin’s designers and technicians gave birth to the new EPS Light Weight Carbon Fiber MTB sole, offering the right mix of performance, durability, strength and light weight.
Its structure is made up of carbon to provide excellent stiffness and power in pedaling. Michelin rubber tread combines a compound designed to balance performance and abrasion resistance – also in extreme conditions – with a design profile which allows for excellent hold and traction. The large distance between the treads allows better self-cleaning and instant mud shedding.
For riders who need even more grip, two holes in the toe cup allow the fixing of screw-on and interchangeable cleats. Tested by the best bikers, this sole represents the pinnacle in terms of technology, innovation and functional quality.

Der Hersteller macht bei seinen hochpreisigen Modellen scheinbar einen guten Job. Ich wollte einen Schuh, der meinem sportlichen Anspruch genügt, nicht drückt und ein gutes Fußklima bietet. 3 x Häkchen setzen, erfüllt. Echte Power Sohle, die bei Gehpassagen guten Grip hat. Der Doppel Boa ist eine Wohltat, um zwischendurch schnell entlasten zu können.
Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Schuh fürs Crossen / Gravel und habe mich daher für einen sportlichen MTB Schuh entschieden. Er sollte Bora Verschlüsse haben, welche auch während der Fahrt verstellbar sind und wenn möglich eine steife Karbonsohle. Da ich seit über zwei Jahren sehr zufrieden bin mit meinen Rennradschuhen Gaerne G.Chrono in Gr. 41 (sitzen wie eine zweite Haut, super steife Karbonsohle, top Verarbeitungsqualität, sehen trotz tausender Kilometer noch neuwertig aus) wollte ich bei Gaerne bleiben und hatte mir eine ähnliche Passform erhofft (ich wurde eines besseren belehrt, auch wenn ich erfolgreich war). Die Herausforderung: Es gibt dutzende verschiedene Gaerne MTB Schuhe, welche alle relativ ähnlich aussehen und auch nicht allzu sehr im Preis variieren - leider ohne Angabe der jeweiligen Passform (abgesehen von einem "wide" Modell). Ich habe eine normale Fußform mit Hohlfuß und trage in Straßenschuhen Gr. 41 oder Gr. 42. Meine Erfahrungen sind wie folgt: - Carbon G.SNX Gr. 42 & Gr. 43: beide zu lang - G.Dare Gr. 41: Zu kurz und im Vorderfuß zu eng; Gr. 42 ebenfalls tu eng im Vorderfuß und auch zu lang - G. Hurricane wide Gr. 42: Obwohl als "wide" Modell vermarktet, im Vorderfuß enger als der Carbon G.Kobra (und somit zu eng); der nur 1x vorhandene Bora Verschluss lässt keine Einzel-Öffnung am Einstellrad zu, sondern nur eine komplette Öffnung! Ausschlusskriterium. - Carbon G.Kobra Gr. 42: Endlich! Das ist mein Schuhe. Passt ähnlich wie mein G. Chrono RR Schuh wie eine zweite Haut und ist auch mit dicken Wintersocken nicht zu eng. Ich hatte mir auch noch einen Schuh von Northwave bestellt gehabt, da ich von dieser Marke in der Vergangenheit sowohl eine RR als auch einen MTB Schuh hatte: - Northwave Rebel 3 Gr. 41,5 & Gr. 42: bei beiden Größen drückt der obere Drehverschluss innen auf den Fußknochen. Das geht gar nicht. Ich hoffe, diese ausführliche Rezension hilft dem ein oder anderen Radfahrer, die Modelle von Gaerne besser einzuordnen.
