The first thing you might notice is what's missing: the seams and multiple panels. Castelli has engineered a new fabric that changes depending on the needs over various parts of the body. The lower leg has a raw-cut leg ending and rubberized yarns to guarantee a flat grip to keep the leg in place. The fabric becomes lighter in the thigh, while the four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support.
In the pelvis area, the compression and support increase to keep the seat pad and everything else in place, and the fabric gets thicker to avoid any embarrassing transparency issues. With this magical fabric Castelli doesn't need to stitch separate panels together, which ensures more comfort and a better fit, as well as a sleek, sophisticated look.
Castelli has developed a new bib strap as well. It's cut from a single piece of fabric that has enough modulus (return) to hold your shorts up without needing extra edge trim that cuts into your shoulders. In addition Castelli has perforate the fabric to keep it cooler.
The seat pad is the top-of-the-line Progetto X2 Air Seamless pad. It's actually two separate components: a soft, stretchy Skin Care Layer next to your skin, which has the sole purpose of preventing any rubbing on your skin, and, under that, the Cushioning Layer, which features two separate densities of foam along with breathable perforated gel inserts under the ischia bones and perineum.

The Progetto X² Air Seamless seat pad is used to protect your skin while providing just the right level of padding for maximum comfort, no matter how long your epic ride is. A four-way stretch microfiber top layer offers maximum softness and moves with your body to prevent skin irritation. Seamless construction prevents chafing and perforated foam backing allows airflow to aid evaporation. A separate component provides no-compromise cushioning, with Castelli’s infinitely variable thickness to bring the right shape to the right part of the body. Perforated viscous padding is added under the highly sensitive ischial and perineum pressure areas.

I’m 90kg (Bought size xxl ) and use wide saddle(150mm), pad is too narrow or just stitched too back, wide part do not stay under sit bones. Great shorts for less than 3 hour ride, after that uncomfortable. Longest ride done now 6 hours Material is good quality. With wider pad, these would be suitable for bigger riders. (Assos bibs where really bad, these are better. Best for my wide ass is Endura Pro wide.. )
Sehr angenehmes Material, gute Träger und das Polster ist perfekt für Langstrecken. Die Hose fällt recht klein aus, ich brauche eine Größe mehr als bei Assos oder anderen Anbietern.
