Gravel shoes – a healthy compromise between comfort and power transmission
Although gravel bike shoes are designed more like road bike shoes and use a relatively stiff sole in favour of power transmission, they also have many advantages that are otherwise associated with MTB shoes. The foot is well enclosed thanks to Velcro or lace fastening, but still fits comfortably in the shoe, and if you want or need to get off the bike, gravel shoes are pleasant enough to walk on. Although there are also really light shoes that have been specially developed for gravel biking, weight in general plays a much smaller role compared to comfort and style than with road bike shoes. Thanks to these intelligent compromises, rides in off-road terrain, on forest paths, gravel roads, soft trails or commuter routes become as effective as comfortable.
