Sleeping bag comfort range
THE COMFORT TEMPERATURE
Is based on the lowest temperature at which a ‘standard’ woman (25 yrs. / 60 kg / 160 cm) can expect to sleep comfortably in a relaxed position. This range ensures a comfortable sleep, also for inexperienced users.
THE LIMIT TEMPERATURE
Is based on the lowest temperature at which a ‘standard’ adult male (25 yrs. / 70 kg / 173 cm) can expect to sleep comfortably in a relaxed position. An experienced user can optimise the insulation qualities by his choice of clothing and further factors.
THE EXTREME TEMPERATURE
Is a survival only rating for a ‘standard’ adult woman. She can remain for six hours without sleep. Without risk of death from hypothermia, but with a risk of other damages to health (such as frostbite).
Technologies
3D-footbox
Mummy sleeping bags have a foot box thatis precisely adapted to the space needs of your feet. The volume in this area is reduced, so less air needs to be warmed up and heat efficiency is increased.
Fitted Hood
The human body loses about 30 % of its heat through the head. The hood on a sleeping bag has the task of minimizing this loss of heat at night. This part of the sleeping bag is anatomically shaped to provide optimal insulation in the head area.
Inner pocket
The practical inner pocket ist made of a soft lining material so you won’t be bothered by seams or hard materials. You can store valuables or small items easily and safely in the pocket.
Single-layer Construction
Single-layer construction in synthetic sleeping bags means that the layer of lining fabric is sewn directly to the outer fabric. This type of processing, however, can result in cold spots. We therefore use this construction exclusively for our ultralight and summer sleeping bags.
Microfiber Sendofiber
Sensofiber is a special microfiber that reflects your body heat while you sleep. It insulates well even when wet because it quickly transports moisture away from the body. It dries quickly, is durable, robust and easy to take care of.
Mummy cut
The classic sleeping bag shape. The mummy cut is recognized by its conical shape: the sleeping bag narrows toward the feet. Its body hugging shape minimizes the amount of air that needs to be warmed up for better thermal efficiency. The cut also means that less material is used than in other shapes. This makes the sleeping bag lighter at a comparable thermal performance and it can be packed down smaller.
