The NEO 2 Smart has been equipped with an high-quality chipset that enables smoother and more responsive control of the NEO motor. This leads to a quieter indoor cycling experience and paves the way for new and immersive features. With the new pedal stroke analysis function, power distribution and driving performance can be improved. A capacitive left and right detection sensor has been added to allow the bike trainer to measure the exact position of both legs. The familiar features of the NEO Smart are still available. Like Road Feel, with which you can experience the vibrating feeling of driving on cobblestones, gravel and many other road surfaces (in Tacx Films and Zwift). And this exciting feeling of accelerating into a descent after reaching the top of a mountain is simulated with the Descent simulation. Like the NEO, it is equipped with dynamic inertia. In contrast to the mass inertia of a flywheel, the dynamic inertia compensates for weight, speed and angle of inclination, significantly improving the riding experience. With the isoconical and isotonic training modes, you train with a fixed force or speed to improve your pedal stroke. These modes are available for free in the Tacx Utility App.
This trainer is equipped with the same powerful resistance unit as the NEO, can simulate inclines of up to 25% and sprints up to 2200 watts. What distinguishes the NEO series from other trainers is the maximum resistance when cycling at low speeds, small gears and very steep climbs. Enables realistic Hill Climb simulations. One of the main advantages is that no maintenance or calibration is required. Unlike all other indoor trainers and direct drives, there are no physical transmissions (like a belt) or other internal or external factors influencing power measurement. It accurately measures your power over the entire operating range within 1% and ensures that the data is accurate and reliable. The NEO 2 Smart is a fully interactive Smart Trainer. It measures speed, cadence and performance and can be controlled by Tacx and third-party applications. This trainer does not require an external energy source as it generates energy through the movement of the bike. So you can train anywhere, like on holiday or in a training camp! Its frame allows a few degrees of movement to the left and right while cycling, so that it follows the natural movement of the body and improves the riding experience. The frame folds down easily to a small size. When folded, the legs serve as handles for easy transport.

Additional axles
The axle of the NEO 2 Smart (Special Edition) has been revised compared to the NEO 2 and now uses the same axle as the NEO 2T to make the trainer compatible with almost all wheels. The trainer can therefore be used with wheels with quick release and thru axle. Excluded from this are thru axles with the dimensions 135x12mm and 135x10mm, an adapter set is available here.

Da hätte ich mir den Kauf des neuen Neo sparen können und das preiswertere Vorgängermodel im Ausverkauf zulegen können! Dear Dirk, We're sorry for the inconvenience. The tacx NEO 2 is almost perfect, because the experience on Zwift is immersive and really interactive. The ERG training is interesting and the speed that this device changes the resistance is stunning. The Tacx NEO 2 almost don't produce noise while the workouts, regardless of the intensity. I like the downhill drive simulation and the road ride feel simulation. Rarely, I have som dropout problems with my Neo 2 in Zwift, but I think is some problem im my computer, because on Zwift companion app I don't have issues. The only desadvantage that I found is the price of Tacx NEO 2!!
Das Beste, was mir geholfen hat, den Lockdown wirklich gut zu überstehen. Wie viel Zeit ich mit Neo 2 verbracht habe, erstaunt mich wirklich, dass er noch nicht kaputt gegangen ist, aber ich bin überhaupt nicht überrascht, dass es immer noch wie am ersten Tag funktioniert. Die Verbindung mit meinem iPhone und iPad auch in Sekundenbruchteilen wie bei Zwift. Auch Trittfrequenz-, Geschwindigkeits- und Leistungssensoren funktionieren einwandfrei, kurzum perfekt.
Der Neo 2 Smart ist für mich wahrscheinlich der beste Direktantriebstrainer, den ich je kaufen konnte. Und er lässt sich platzsparend verstauen.
Schnelle Lieferung, top Preis. Das Gerät ist ersklassig. Ich hatte vorher einen Kettler DX1 und Kurt Kinetic Rock, aber der Tacx ist eine andere Welt. Die App funktioniert bei mir zuverlässigt, das Geräte ist leise und funktioniert auch ohne Strom. Das Fahrgefühl und die Varianz ist sehr gut. Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Gerät.
Great piece. No calibration needed, very silent, everything works fine. Two Things for Info: 1. I needed a spacer (which was included) to fit my Cannondale Slate Gravelbike (Watch out: there are some bike models where the rear disc brake won't fit). Is very tight, but works. 2. I bought an ANT reciever for the PC, because bluetoth connection was struggling at first. I found out that it was because of Wifi interference (I needed to google it to understand why my bluetooth connection was very weak). I could just stop the Wifi for the time of cycling, but an ANT reciever plugged in all the time is a more convenient solution and works well ;)
Bin begeistert vom Direktantrieb - da hat sich der Umstieg vom alten Rollentrainer echt mal gelohnt. Tacx baut einfach die besten Heintrainer und ich kann den Neo2 Smart nur jedem empfehlen!
