The new Shimano Ultegra wheel range is designed to be strong, lightweight and aerodynamic for outstanding performance on any road. The following rim heights are available on the WH-R8170-TL: 36 mm, 50 mm and 60 mm.
The ULTEGRA WH-R8170-TL is a true gem in the new wheelset line-up. With a lighter, wider full carbon rim and a lighter hub, the WH-R8170-TL is perfectly equipped for climbs in the mountains. The new rims with 36 mm, 50 mm and 60 mm high profile - offer good aerodynamic properties despite their extremely low weight. The tubeless, carbon rim features a 21 mm internal width that pairs nicely with wider, modern tires while the HYPERGLIDE cassette body is compatible with 11 and 12-speed cassettes.

OPTBAL Spoke SystemThe OPTBAL rear wheel spoke system features 24 spokes - 16 on the drive side and 8 on the non-drive side. Cassette spacing in today’s wheels produces unbalanced tension in traditional 1:1 spoke systems. This unbalance is intensified with the 11-speed cassette, producing nearly double the tension on the drive side spokes. Generally high and low tension spokes have respectively tendency toward breaking down and coming loose spoke nipples. Unbalanced tension affects durability and strength. The OPTBAL design rebalances spoke tension, enhancing wheel rigidity and strength for a more durable wheel.

CENTER LOCK System
The CENTER LOCK system makes an easy rotor installation possible with spline mount and a lock ring. The lock ring mounting system reduces the total working hours by shortening the amount of time of both installation and de-installation. In addition, the secure fixing by the spline mount enhances precision and rigidity while improving braking efficiency.

Ein guter Trainings-Laudradsatz. Top Preis-Leistung, unauffällig und technisch super! Habe 28mm-Reifen tubeless verbaut - alles einwandfrei. Der Versand war sehr schnell.
Fahre die C36 bei 80kg Körpergewicht. Ein stabiler Laufradsatz, seidenweicher Lauf. Mit TPU Schläuchen und 28er Reifen eine perfekte Kombination. Schneller Versand - Top !
The rim is nice and wide, the 21mm makes my 30mm Vittoria Corsa a measured 31.3mm (which is 0.5mm wider than what i get from a Mavic Slr 32 with the same 21 mm internal width). But the hub engagenment is a big, big disapointment, not in line with a modern road wheelset.. I only hope the hub can be upgraded to internals similar tu DuraAce...
