Schwalbe Al Mighty Evo 26x4.80" Spike Folding Tire
The Schwalbe Al Mighty - Fatbike tire with 328 studs for the most extreme conditions in the snow.

What should you know about studded tires?

  • Can you drive with spikes also on normal road?
no problem at all. However, if there is rarely snow and the road is mostly clear, the running noise will soon bother you.
  • And you do not slip away?
No. The studs also "claw" very well in normal asphalt roads. Even fast curves are no problem.
  • Aren't studs forbidden?
Spikes are no problem for bicycle tires. Only for motor vehicles are spikes banned in some countries because they damage the road. Fast e-bikes, however, are considered motor vehicles.
  • Do you have to break in the tires?
To ensure that the studs hold permanently, the tires should be run in for about 40 km on asphalt. Avoid vigorous acceleration and braking in the process.
  • How long do the studs last?
All Schwalbe studs have a core made of extremely wear-resistant hard metal (tungsten carbide). With it you can drive several thousand kilometers. That the corners round grind and the spikes press in a little deeper, is normal.
  • Some of the studs are lost. Can I replace them?
Yes, we offer a set with spare spikes incl. tools.
  • When do the tires reach their limits?
In deep snow even studded tires will not help.
  • I rarely have snow. How can I make good use of studded tires?
Optimal is if you can mount the tires on a second wheel. In the morning you decide for the right bike depending on the weather. On icy roads, when even the cars drive very carefully, it is a great feeling on the studded tires to have full control.

Endlich ein Fatbike-Spikereifen von Schwalbe! Bin begeistert.

This is an excellent tire that grips everything and rolls fast. Mounting it tubeless was super easy as well I’m just about to buy my third tire from this shop.
